P&L is where the big party will be, I'm sure. If you want a lower-key atmosphere but a place that is unique in KC, in North KC there is a place called "Chappelle's" which has all of the walls lined with the most incredible private assortment of sports memorabilia you will ever see. If you did want to zip over to P&L after the game to check out the Threepeat party you wouldn't be too far. Any place you are looking at I would call ahead of time and see what they have planned.

If going out for the game I'd try to pick a place with plenty of space/seats. If downtown I've had luck at Taps on Main and Streetcar Grille/Tavern (they are actually about 2 blocks from each other).

I flew into KC for the SB last year and had a blast... friends had a Vegas/casino-themed basement/bar area, Chiefs swag, hit up the favorite BBQ spots and bars, etc.
Definitely could have gone to a Chiefs bar in Phoenix and had fun, but it was a cool trip and basically a replacement for not going to any of the games last season. And I've gotten pretty particular in SB watching habits... I prefer watching it with other people in a pretty specific environment (leave me the **** alone during play unless you know what you're talking about, don't constantly whine about the refs and how every call against the Chiefs is bullshit and how the other team is getting away with blatant holds every play, etc.), but would 100% watch it alone over watching it in the wrong environment.

Considering maybe Barley's out in the burbs or even YardHouse since they have tons of TVs... but thinking I'd have to be there at like 4pm for a decent viewing experience.

If you like stogies, I'd suggest Outlaw Cigar and Brewery in the Northland.
Massive leather chairs and an excellent view of the game. |

Just don't hang out and wait for a parade after we win the SB. They already said because of last years shooting there will not be a parade this year.

Last year I watched it at Johnnies in Shawnee and I went to use the restroom. I see a suburban dad looking bro come out of the handicapped stall which was the only one available...and he gives me a weird look...looked like he was gonna say something to me and then he was like nag. So I think its good to go in and I see his buddy crouched over doing a line of coke.
In Shawnee, Kansas. |
