one of the most athletic guys I knew was kind of fat and never worked out. He had a bigger dad bod than Mahomes though. But he could step onto a basketball court and hang with NBA players (they were future NBA players at KU)

That's why getting sacked by Milano was frankly a surprise. We've seen Pat get out of that more times than not. It was just a really freakish play by Milano.

Watching that develop from the stands, I'd stopped watching him.

I was looking downfield to see who was breaking open. It never even crossed my mind that Milano might be a threat. I saw his angle, saw Pat's momentum -- he didn't have a chance.

He ALWAYS makes that guy miss. Every damn time. And if he doesn't think he can, he throws the ball away. He just never ever ever takes that sack.

The reaction at the stadium was just bewilderment. Nobody was watching that unfold thinking "uh oh, Pat's in trouble..."

It was just another day at the ol' ballyard and he was gonna make Milano look silly and fire a strike for a 1st down. And then he didn't.

Yeah that was pretty weird. It's like he took his eye off Milano for a second and didn't anticipate the tackle.

That game is exactly why I wasn't sad to see Tyreek traded away.

He is an elite receiver, and usually has great ball skills, but in the SB against Tampa, and several times that year, he just let passes bounce off his hands, and a WR1 makes those catches, or at least I believe they do.

Mahomes played badly, but if Tyreek catches that ball, that hit his hands, or at the very least knocks it down so it's not intercepted, and we win, and nobody ever talks about Burrow again.

Wingo of all people read off a stat the other day. There have been 125 drives since 2001 where the QB had the chance to win the game with less than1 minute left in the game. Brady was like 5-11 and Brees was 3 for 9 or something like that. Mahomes was the only QB that was 100%. He's 7 for 7. He got the points needed to win.

I was thinking about it yesterday.

If Tom Brady didn't exist, at 29 years old Patrick Mahomes would be inarguably the greatest QB of all time.

That's how fast he's just run through everybody. This start is ****ing ridiculous.

I guess the flipside is that by 35 years old, most QBs prior to this era were beaten to death and pretty much washed up. So most of those guys couldn't do the compiling that so many other guys in the modern era have done.

But still, what an absurd 7 seasons.

Their secondary is better but the corners are very young. I’d take Pat and Andy vs rookie corners anytime.

Without Dean, their LBs aren’t all that special. Baum or whatever his name is can make plays but 600 year old Zach Ertz just completely went nuclear over the middle and in the flats last week.

I'd bet a paycheck that he was concussed at some point early in the second half of that game. Maybe before that.
