To get a plug and play guy, you're probably looking at two first as a starting baseline. History shows you're not much better picking at 18 or 22 as you are at 28 or 32.

The opportunity cost is just too high. This team has to reload through the draft. They can't afford to sell out for one position.

A team would probably ask for even more from us since they know those picks aren't going to be in the top 20.

I would think hard on using the 2nd and 3rd on drafting the best tackle prospects again.

Yea...but we have other holes, if you move a bunch of picks for 1 guy we're going to lose depth and that's a real problem.

I think maybe he thought you were talking about packaging a 1, 2, and 3 as part of a trade. I thought that the first time I read it.

If you're talking about continuing kind of what they did with Kingsley, yeah to me, that's the most logical option.

Sure feels like this is probably the case. He was never a fan of doing it to begin with, and Kingsley probably caused trauma that won't be reversed.

Mecca mentioned Ronnie Stanley, and I have no idea how I didn't realize he was a free agent. If Baltimore doesn't resign or tag him before free agency, I could really see Veach going balls deep and making that happen. They were willing to pay Trent Williams a record deal, I bet they'd consider a huge deal for a player of his caliber.

Yes.

And I know it is normally dumb to say "I'm going this position this round" but the fact is that tons of great OL year after year get drafted in those rounds.


Keep the 1st for the best overall talent that falls down the board, any position.

Then grab a stud guard if there's a Creed like guy sticking out or if not take two exceptionally talented tackle prospects.

We know the score by now. If Mahomes is upright we win.
