Does anyone really think that if Mahomes was hell bent on doing it he couldn’t go back to putting up gaudy stats in the regular season? Of course he could. He’s clearly made a conscious choice to conserve himself mentally and physically for the postseason and not peak too soon.

It’s him and Brady, and I’d still listen to an argument for Montana. But if he wins in two weeks I think the Montana argument is gone and it’s just him and Tom.
It’s honestly an apples to oranges comparison between Mahomes and Montana.

Montana played in an era before FA, meaning that he was on a loaded team.
Mahomes plays in an era of FA which makes having a super team much harder.

But…….
Montana played in an era where QBs got destroyed along with WRs.
Mahomes plays in a much more QB/WR friendly era.

Now had Montana led KC to the SB (which he almost did) and they won, he would probably still be considered the GOAT.

Mahomes had a 96.3 QBR against the Eagles in the last SB.

Not NFL rating. ESPN QBR.

Mahomes has a touchdown:interception ratio > 5:1. That is insane.

I still think that's probably the best game he's ever played.

I mean when you consider context, it's obviously the best. But even in a vacuum, I don't think I've ever seen him play better.

He had to be spot-on ****ing perfect in that game and I'll be damned if he wasn't.

They score on every drive but one, if MVS turns the right way on that deep ball, and Butker doesn't miss.

Completed every pass in the second half except for the one he threw away to avoid a sack.

He was awesome in the first Eagles Super Bowl, especially considering his ankle injury. Somehow pulled off a crazy running play to help seal victory at the end. Really smart decisions with the ball throughout the game. Zero turnover worthy plays.

I personally felt Mahomes was virtually perfect in the 13 second game. I should look up the stats. But I don't remember a single turnover on his end, or even a stalled drive except for the Blake Bell wildcat play on 3rd down that had zero chance of working.

But the 2nd half of the Eagles super bowl was absolute perfection and efficiency.
