2025 OL Prospect Thread
Alright guys, let’s have ourselves a 2025 OL Thread.
Current OL Questions: 1) We’ve invested in OL, what are your thoughts on their development path and potential roles next season? ...Kingsley, Morris, Humpries, Caliendo, & Nourzard. 2) Thuney’s holding it down at LT fairly well and getting paid big money, are you open to him playing there or moving him back to LG? For the playoffs & SB or next season? 3) Are you planning on picking up Jawan Taylor’s contract option in 2026 @ $27m cap hit? 2025 OL Draft Prospects: Depending on where you look we’ll get a chance to draft one of the following O-Lineman @ #32: Jones, Milum, Williams, Ersery, Simmons, Savaiinaea, Conley Jr or Booker. Some OL prospects that CP members have suggested for rounds 2-4 include Ratledge, Membou, Mbow, Jackson, Nelson, Brown, Colby, Belton, Fairchild & Zuhn, C Grant. Not much consistency in rankings or rounds for these prospects yet. 1) Would you take an O-Lineman in the first round or wait until later in the draft? 2) Who do you have your eye one? Why are they a good fit? Are they starters or projects? 3) Please add your own questions, comments, player draft profiles, links, videos etc for your favorite OL targets below! 2025 OL Prospect Videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gHlP2QlHI8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8AN0RTUowQ ^How to embed videos in post? The 2021 and 2022 draft has done the heavy lifting for this team the last few years and now the time has come to pay them. To my count, they can keep some, but not many. You’re likely losing one of Trey Smith/Nick Bolton. You’re losing Pacheco, probably Watson, maybe Chenal (I’m hoping we can keep him) and Williams. Also gonna have to replace Kelce and guys like Tranquil, maybe Omenihu, maybe Hollywood and Kareem since we have a terribly non-explosive RB room. We haven’t exactly had great drafts recently compared to those 2. I love Rashee, love Worthy, love Hicks and think Kingsley will start at RG, but they need these early picks to build the future of the roster the next 4 years. It’s a risk assessment of captital. Use it on one important lottery ticket or use it on several lottery tickets for the greater good of the whole roster?

So replace a G, a RB, your 2nd CB and another off ball LB'er.
Yeah, I'd be fine with trading that for a LT. |

And WR, TE, CB3, possibly S (Cook replacement).
Lot of questions to be answered. Trade up probably won’t be viable anyway.

If this happens we are 100% trading up for Conerly or Simmons

A trio of Rice, Worthy, and Egbuka on rookie deals would be nice.

1. Losing Kelce is going to happen and we won't necessarily replace him but I do like what we have in-house already with Gray and Wiley (who will develop). I'm not especially concerned here. 2. I've never been overly concerned with losing off-ball LBs. There are always quite a few functional players in FA and the 2nd and 3rd rounds yield quality players there all the time. Losing Bolton and Chenal wouldn't pressure me into not trading resources for a legit LT. Chenal is under contract for another year and Tranquil is under contract for two more years. We can navigate that situation. 3. Losing Pacheco is the last of my worries. He's a very average RB with limited vision. I feel like there is a better replacement value in FA every year. This year's draft is loaded. My strategy would be buying one with a mid-round pick, above many other positions. 4. I think when we look at depth and look at the future of the roster and where we are at now, there is something we do need to keep in the back of mind and that's expiring contracts and available cap. Thuney and Kelce have one year left in 2025. McDuffie and Karlaftis are under contract yet with 5th-year options through 2026. So we kind of have that buffer, right? No doubt Jawaan Taylor will get cut in 2026. There will be operating funds there to get some guys. 5. If we move up for a LT, we're losing a 1st and a 3rd probably. We've wasted plenty of 3rd round picks on near-zero returns. In the past 10 years we've had no 3rd rounder twice and more or less whiffed 4 times (Saunders was shit until his final year, O'Daniel, Russell, and Niang). I'm looking at that as I think it's worth giving up 1 legit contributor to get a legit LT for the rest of Mahomes' career. If we can do that, then we can stop spending bad money bringing in broke dicks and below-average tackles and use it instead on these other, cheaper positions and obtain some quality vets. If you're worried about RB, TE, S, and LB, those positions are all, generally speaking, under 10m per in FA. That's for solid guys, not all-stars. You can buy at least one of those with the bad OT money. Now you have the chance for two good players instead of one and a below-average to bad one. |

A first and a third isn't getting you into "can't miss" range.
There's no reason to use multiple draft assets to get another Kingsley. |

People get worked up about replacing names, I mean there is no replacing Kelce when he leaves. It’s going to suck, but it just really going to be different not exactly worse in terms of moving the offense. If you can fix the LT problem in the draft, you have to do it. There is just no question. We can get by at almost every other position on the team. If an opportunity presents itself self you aggressively go after it. I will lose no sleep on LBs and running backs. Well I’ll lose sleep if Carson Steel is on the roster next year. We need to draft some talent. But if you trade up to deal with LT you can still get something we need in the 2nd and 3rd preferably a DT or DB. Veach has done a master class in creating the roster. We have one giant problem. Go fix it. |

A good multi-purpose, pass catching RB would be a nice add. But the offensive line is the most crucial. You MUST protect Mahomes. A proper run stuffing, space eating monster at DT is a need as well. Pennel has to be about done. |

The good news is that alot of those things are easy to find Meck.
The LT isn't but that's just what it is at this point. I'm reallyyyyy hoping Egbuka falls right into our lap. |

Only LT prospect in the Jeremiah/Brugler mock that wasn’t in the teens.
Not overly tall. Good size though

My preference would be to sign humphries to a two year deal and draft Josh Simmons this year. Play him at guard in trey Smiths spot for two years and he can take over left tackle after that.
We can also let Kingsley do something similar with Thuney after next year. That way we have two or three guys (Wanye Morris) in the pipeline who can take over the job since its pretty apparent at this point that if you arent a top ten pick at tackle then you wont be ready in years one two or possibly three. Keep in mind Fisher was the number one overall draft pick and he still had to play Right tackle for a year before moving over to left and was only a pro bowler for two seasons. |

Daniel Jeremiah Top 50 is out.
Conerly is 38th. Yikes. Not very tall, not very athletic. Did not like this description: Quote:
Josh Simmons is 30th. He’s the best option IMO. Size, power and technique all look good. Hoping his injury pushes him down to us
