Playing the slice, so to speak. "Okay, you're going to stretch people over here knowing that he's going to roll over here if things get hairy so we're going to just do it on purposes to slide protection that way, neutralize your 'fence' and buy him the time to get a full view of the field..."

The only real miss I can think of from him on the day was the deep ball to Worthy that could've been PI (wasn't). That was another deep shot that he just had funky ball placement on. With more lead, Worthy can just run under that and go.

He missed one to Worthy in the flat. Threw it behind him. There was a dude in his face that I presume made him throw it in a different pace, but it was an easy first.

I'm much less worried about that one, but I remember thinking at the time damn that would have been easy.

The Worthy miss is PI if Worthy works back to the ball.

Man this was about as of elite a play from Mahomes as he's had this year.

I think he knew he was going to Hopkins a full 2-3 seconds before threw it.

He pulled the coverage left with his head, then pulled the linebacker out of the hole by running up into the pocket.

At the same time Hopkins saw all this happening and moved to the back line to create more separation from the linebacker for the throw.

Then the arm talent.

Phew.

Shows the importance of OL. Look at them there. I’ve been very critical, but they did a perfect job there and it yielded a TD. No surprise.

DHop again being in sync with Patrick and continuing to have that level of on field awareness bodes well for us down the stretch.
