Dumb owners make bad decisions that have a trickle down effect on the rest of the organization. Giants decision to pay Daniel Jones cost them Saquaon Barkley. Jets decision to sign Rodgers set them back for a few years.

Owners! For the longest time the Giants had the old boys club running things. Family members in important roles like scouting. The Giant’s draft classes have been awful. I believe they finally changed a bit with the most recent GM.

Btw if there was ever a landing spot for bellichick this would be it.

Dear god I hope we don’t have to deal with the patriot tree cesspool again. But the move makes too much sense and that makes schoen expendable

I don't know. It's not like Bill has a ton of time to fix things and get back to a SB, and NYG is a dumpster fire. Their defense is bottom-5, OL isn't great, no RB, and most importantly, no QB. That's a lot to fix.

I just don't think he's going to a team that doesn't have at least a decent defense, OL and QB.

I mean, it’s pretty hard for Schoen to justify keeping his job.

He came off like an uninspired wimp with no vision on Hard Knocks. Super nice guy but not enough of a killer to be the head man. Looks like a really good #2 to me.

The fact the two big storylines for them this offseason were Saquon Barkley and a QB in the draft and they whiffed on them both (while Schoen and his staff were CERTAIN Maye wasn’t worth moving up to 3 for) is tough to recover from.

Especially when Mora clearly loved Barkley so much. To let him get to the Eagles and be so dynamic there is just … a bad look.

I don’t see that at all. Their offense is a qb away from being pretty special. Tyrone Tracy is legit and singletary is a good #2. Really good WRs and Andrew Thomas is a solid LT when healthy. Theo Johnson is also a solid enough te.

Defense has enough foundational pieces for a guy like bellichick to build around.

They have a lot of young pieces to work with once they get a qb, which they will be in pole position to get now that they’re tanking.

Maybe. I won't say I know that much about NYG's OL situation. But they just got their asses kicked by TB's defensive front, and they aren't very good at rushing the passer. I get that they have some decent offensive skill players, but they're OL/RBs weren't very efficient against a TB defense that hasn't been very good vs. the run all year either.

Anyway, to me they appear to have massive holes on defense, if yesterday's game is any indication, and no QB, with very few decent-looking options coming in the next draft or two.

Add in that NYG hasn't had a decent GM in a long time, and Bill is terrible at evaluating offensive talent, I just don't see it. Ymmv of course.

Can’t take much stock in that TB game. The team quit on daboll after the bullshit daboll pulled on jones last week. I mean, nabers wasn’t even hiding how much he hates daboll. And their decent LT is on IR. But they have two terrific rookies in Nabers and Tracy. I mean, saquon is having an outstanding season but people are falling asleep on how good Tracy has been for an offense that shouldn’t be able to run the ball well (apart from ball security). They need to shore up their OL and build up their defense which are things bellichick can do quickly. The only question is if they can get a legit qb with their draft pick.

And Mara would give bellichick the control he wants and bellichick is already familiar. I hate for it to be true but the move makes quite a bit of sense.
