They paid him very close to what his prior contract average was this year.

That wasn't because we lacked talent. 2021 was all about the NFL taking away the verticals that Mahomes and Reid thrived on.

AFC Championship 2nd half was one of the best called halves I have ever seen by a DC with Lou of Cinci.

Lou threw the kitchen sink at us. Every play that had bothered our offense since Mahomes started was unearthed in that half.

Yes, a lot was coverage but it was masterful.

And we still tied the game and went to OT and probably go to the SB anyway if Reek catches the ball clean and doesn't pop it up for the INT.

That was my point. We should have done normal restructure before we got to the point of giving him $60mil cap hits just for the sake of it looking pretty on paper compared to other QBs.

Long term if you're keeping Kelce instead of him? He'll be younger than Kelce is now at the end of his contract. That doesn't really make sense long term.


I really hate how these convos always lead back to Tyreek but there's a reason for that...
