The fate of Chris Jones 2023 edition

Appears the Chiefs and Chris Jones are at the beginning of a contract dispute

Speculation has been that the two sides are "far apart" on a deal

So Chiefs Planet.... how do we think this will play out (poll coming)

Will the Chiefs pay up and meet Chris Jones demands? If so, how much will it end up costing?

Will the Chiefs not be able to meet Chris Jones demands and end up trading him? If so, what kind of haul can we expect?

I've really loved watching Chris Jones wreck shit for the Chiefs, it always sucks when the business side of the NFL forces teams into tough decisions.

I still don’t think he’s missing any games and we’ll see him report within the next week.

It makes too much sense for him.

Yeah, this thread is currently early in the 4th quarter of a game against the Broncos and the Chiefs are only up by a touchdown and the Broncos have the ball... logic would state everything is just fine (CJ's week 8 was clearly trolling, he's still under contract and everything points to him reporting, and while this should have been over far sooner, it's clearly not dire yet), but CP is in full meltdown mode because, well, CP.

So, we just have to wait for the inevitable Broncos turnover and 4th quarter touchdown drive to seal the game, and everything will be right in the world for another week, until the next slight breeze of adversity blows through and we get to meltdown again.

Absolutely.

I get being frustrated. But mad at the guy? Be mad at him if he’s not playing week 1. Be mad at him if it’s week 3 and he doesn’t have a sack.

I don’t think he deserves all this vitriol yet. But that can change.

Logic would say you guys are right.

I'm not entirely sure the Jones camp is operating from logic right now. I mean, we saw it from Brown's camp just a few months ago.

Such as? There has to be a team willing to do this and as each season goes on it becomes clear that fewer and fewer teams want to trade with Veach unless they feel they will clearly win.

I hope you are correct.

Whatever happens- he is still and idiot. It is costing him 50k a day not to be at training camp. Maybe he is not a fan of how hard Andy's camps are but he is already out 1m.

We will see if he and/or his agent is full on mentally handicapped when the regular season kicks in. 1.083 mill per game
