Let's get these two out of the way.

Is it me or are there more injuries this year than in previous years? Someone should look into the fields and/or turf it doesn't make sense.

Watson and James are nearly locks just based on their contracts and dead money. Someone else would have to really blow the staff away to make them consider cutting one of them.. IMO

Watson is a fast, big-bodied receiver who can make plays on offense, block, and is a 4-phase special teamer. I seriously doubt he's going anywhere.

I don't think James/Watson are even the same type of WR. Watson is a boundary deep threat WR, while James is a smaller, shiftier, short-to-intermediate, over-the-middle type of WR.

But I'd bet on Andy keeping the both of them before he cuts one for one of the Ross'.

It's kind of a dumb conversation because whatever happens, we win. Lots of talent in this young receiver room

Our WRs are a true “boom or bust” position group.

Kadarius could be 1300 yards and 10 tds … or play 3 plays and be out 2 months
Skyy could be Welker, or Lance Long
Rice could be Deandre Hopkins, or Jon Baldwin
Justyn Ross could be Juju or Anthony Gonzalez
John Ross could be Mecole Hardman or never play a down

The athletic upside of this group is as high as damn near any group in the league, but its floor is also right there with the lowest.

Good thing we know Mahomes/Andy will put them in positions to utilize their strengths against an opponents weakness.

Not bad, gents. Pretty good buzz so far, I must say.

I'm already seeing a lot of quiet enthusiasm for the Ross turds, and you just know somebody is going to go full dumbass and crown their asses by the time the first preseason game rolls around. Looking forward to reading the usual rationale for keeping them on the team, selected from any or all of the following:

1. "But the POTENTIAL!"

2. "We only have __________ with this kind of body type on the roster, and we need more guys like that! Ross can be one of them!"

3. "I'm telling you, I went to the practice, and Ross just blew the doors off of every other WR we've got! It doesn't have to be this difficult, just use the eye test!"

4. "Seriously, the NFL is going to do away with special teams eventually anyway, so why do we need a designated guy like that on the roster?"

5. "We already KNOW what Watson/James/vet brings to the table and it SUCKS! We can't get any worse by going with Ross!

Don't disappoint me, CP!

Skyy seems to be putting in work trying to improve. Catching a TD pass in the Super Bowl in his rookie year would light a fire under anyone's butt.

I still have high hopes.

It's hard for me to think that a guy who went undrafted has more upside than a guy who has the fastest 40 ever recorded. But ok.
