Is it me or are there more injuries this year than in previous years? Someone should look into the fields and/or turf it doesn't make sense.

No matter what happens, at least we won't have a make-a-wish kid taking snaps for us like Carolina.

So our season is already starting out in better shape than some...

I don't know why there would be rule limiting the number of QBs on a roster. **** it, have 53 QBs if you want, who cares?

The whole idea of not being able to dress the entire roster is dumb. Not like they are college rosters with a massive number of players.

I agree and NFL should allow 53 players for game day. It won't cost the NFL or the teams any extra money. Players get the same amount of money if they dress out or not. The whole idea is to have the best team on the field on game day. Let all 53 be able to play.

Yeah I didn't even know there was a limit. But that still wouldn't have helped the 49ers. No way they expected 2 healthy qbs to do down in one game.

NFL owners have passed a bylaw that allows teams to have a 3rd QB in uniform (a 47th active player) on gamedays, in case of a worst case scenario situation
Something wrong with that statement. NFL was already at 47 +1 for 8 OLs and add this QB rule we are at 49.

Will this new rule affect the Offensive Line rule and game day rosters?

Quote:
Under the 2011 CBA, teams were allowed to dress 46 players from their 53-man roster for a game. Under the new deal, they can dress 47. They can also dress a 48th player — as long as the game-day roster includes at least eight offensive linemen. But as we’ve seen, they can choose not just from their active roster, but also from designated practice-squad players — up to two from applications of the SEA, and perhaps more from CDA designations. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2020/...inning-in-2020
If you combine these the OL rule (8) and the QB rule (3) that could be 49 players for game day roster.

I would think this new rule change would mean most NFL team will carry 3 QBs on their roster.

I think Chiefs were probably going to do that anyway with Patrick Mahomes, Blaine Gabbert, and Shane Buechele.

That rule exits because of injuries. If we have the same inactives, maybe yours are just scratches and half mine are hurt...if you can dress everyone then the other team has to make a choice to play with less guys or try to make roster moves...

Teams hit by the injury bug would be affected even more because another team could realistically dress 5-7 more guys.
