This is the type of a situation that definitely warrants cancellation/postponed. There is precedent to this type of situations in other sports, regardless of how late the season is/playoff implications.

It is understandable that the decision makers took time to get the correct information, talk to all concerned parties, and discuss options and possibilities, before making a decision or a statement to the media.

This situation is obviously not common, and for the most part unprecedented. The correct decision was made, and that's what matters.

Making millions of dollars playing the game that is a business, then talking about the game that is a business, and then criticizing the game because it's really a business, just doesn't resonate with me.

The NFL didn't come to Ryan Clark's house and force him to play in the NFL, so why suddenly act like the NFL being a business is evil?

Everyone, absolutely everyone involved in the NFL wants the young man to be well and to recover.

A player just damned near died on the field, had to be revived by CPR and AED.

This is next-level shit going on that players and coaches are NOT accustomed to seeing.

We're talking about life and/or death here, not just a blown ACL.

I wouldn't have any desire to coach after seeing one of the players having to suffer through that.

No. The NFL rules state that rankings are first determined by W-L-T percentages, not number of losses. There is no tie to break.

Would still surprise me if they hadn't been given some indication by now about what to expect going forward.

And I still don't get being so hard on the NFL in this situation. Whoever made the decision to keep on playing tonight obviously didn't have the on-field context the coaches/players did here and didn't see the seriousness of what happened.
