Are they a playoff contender? Sure. Could they make a run if they get hot and the breaks fall their way? Sure. Are they the Bucs before Brady got there? Hell no… |

Elway had an amazing final game vs ATL in the SB.

I get that having a top QB is almost required to win a SB these days, but so is surrounding him with high-performers on rookie contracts-SB QBs consume so much cap space. I'm a draft geek, so giving up (2) 1st and (2) 2nds would have me soiling my breeches. But I get, we are very familiar with suffering through years of QB mediocrity, and it feels great to have a SB winner in the huddle, but at 33 coming off a mediocre season (maybe it wall all thumb related) and giving up Top 10 pick + 3 other high picks would make me more than a little nervous. I have no doubt they will be a playoff-level team next year, but is that what you want out of this? Great deal if they were "Rams-level" roster, but I don't think that's the case.

Very different times now. Chiefs and Chargers are better and the AFC is packed. Not the same.

He did, but he was NOT good his final two years in the league in the playoffs, outside of the second Super Bowl. He was awful in you all’s first SB win of the back to back, in fact for those playoffs he averaged 182 yards per game in 4 games, completed 58% of his passes and had a TD-INT ratio of 3-2. In 98, he only completed 52% for 691 yards total and only threw for 3 TD’s in 3 games. Not good.
Again, he won both which is all that ultimately matters, and he did perform pretty well in that final Super Bowl, but let’s not pretend that TD didn’t carry them through both of those post-seasons. Little bit of revisionist history on Elway in this thread. |

The Lamar Jackson love-fest blew up in his face so now he's gotta find a new sweet baboo. And since it's Jeff Chadiha it can't be Joe Burrow because...well...because. So yeah, Russ makes all the sense in the world. Chadiha is not a bad source of information but he's pretty intolerable on the radio.

Either way...Russell Wilson ain't at the end of a 16-18 year career. So...just...stop. |

This is a good move for the Broncos and makes it tougher on KC. Anyone trying to spin it otherwise is just trolling. You need a legitimate QB to be a contender and the Broncos got one. Wilson is heads and shoulders above the QB's that were on the roster and anyone else they could have signed or drafted in the offseason.
The division got tougher.

I don’t get the narrative that this guy turned into a pumpkin the 2nd half of the season. He had 15 TD’s/3 INT’s in his last 8 games coming back from an injured hand in season. So he was on pace for 30 TD’s/6 INT’s? And that’s bad?
Also who are your top 10 QB’s now that Brady is gone? Figure it would be: 1. Mahomes 2. Allen 3. Rodgers 4. Stafford 5. Burrow 6. Wilson (close call with Burrow) 7. Dak 8. Herbert 9. Murray 10. Cousins

Wilson has always had a little bit of that Alex Smith feel. He'll often end a game with 225 passing yards 2 TDs and 0 INTs and you're like "what the hell?", but it has a lot to do with that Seattle philosophy. They had the Legion of Boom for a while and even afterward, Carroll seemed content to just run the ball 40 times per game, keep it close, then let Wilson work some magic in the last few minutes to win the game. If you check his career numbers, on a per throw basis he is not far off of Mahomes. He's got comparable YPA, TD% and INT%, the Seahawks just throw the ball a lot less than the Chiefs do. |

Oh, and I guess:
1. Rodgers 2. Mahomes 3. Allen Decent sized gap 4. Stafford 5. Herbert 6. Wilson 7. Dak 8. Burrow Another gap 9. Murray 10. Cousins Carr, Tannehill and Jackson sit on the fringe here. They can interchange with Murray and Cousins depending on the week. |
