Arby’s is daring you to try what it is calling the spiciest sandwich on the market.

Starting Monday, the fast-food chain is bringing the heat with the new Diablo Dare Sandwich, which comes in two varieties – crispy chicken and smoked brisket.

The chain said the limited-time sandwiches come with five sources of heat: ghost pepper jack cheese, fiery hot seasoning, fire-roasted jalapenos and Diablo BBQ sauce, served on a red chipotle bun

Arby’s said the sandwich is “so spicy, we had to include a free vanilla shake to cool your mouth down between bites.”

The Diablo Dare will be available through Feb. 6 at participating locations nationwide and starts at $5.99, including the free snack-size shake.

“This is not a sandwich for the faint of heart,” Patrick Schwing, Arby’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “Everyone in (the quick-service restaurant industry) says they have a spicy option, but our research tells us that consumers are disappointed by fast food claims of spicy.”

Schwing says Arby’s took that “as a challenge by making sure all different types of spicy – the hot, the numbing, and the lingering are combined to make the Diablo Dare a true test of how much heat you can handle.”

Arby’s also will have a challenge on TikTok with #ArbysDiabloDare. Starting Jan. 18, the chain said fans can go to TikTok and “use a branded effect filter to show their followers how much of the Diablo Dare sandwich they can take before reaching for relief with the vanilla shake.”

Haven't tried it, but I find it hard to believe that anything using ghost peppers would be toward the top of the list. They're hot, but nothing compared to reapers, scorpions, or primos.

Yeah, Reapers are like Ghost Peppers turned up to 11. Very similar flavor profiles, just hotter.

My tip if you want to try super hot sauces but avoid (most of) the heat is to try it on Mac and cheese. You get the flavor of the heat and some of the burn, but the creaminess helps to keep it in check.

That said, going all in with it slathered all over chicken wings is fun too. Definitely gets tge endorphins going.

That said, the mac and cheese recommend is spot-on.

I think I've mentioned before, but the best way to get a lot of heat without hitting a point of no return is to make mac'n'cheese, and season it with Reaper or Scorpion infused salt.

You gotta season it anyway, and this way you only need a little salt, and the pepper will keep you mindful of HOW LITTLE. [ie, this stuff is POTENT]

And i agree, they're tasty. Now that you've had 2x Spicy and understand what you're dealing with, find the original 1x Spicy.

The same exact flavor, slightly less heat. Still snot inducing, but more tolerable.

Eh, calling me a pepperhead gives me too much credit. I'm a big fan of Hot Ones on YouTube, which is where it comes from. But while I think that it's a fun party game of sorts to try super hot stuff (see my earlier post), I don't really use anything above a "5/10" or so on a regular basis. That said, I do enjoy the "challenges" just to try a variety of sauces and seeing what sticks around.

My favorites recently have been Jala Pepa and Tomasa from season 15. Those two are solid enough to keep around. But they're nowhere near super hots.

Damn me for just starting to eat keto for weight loss last week... I've been putting the ghost pepper sauce on chicken thighs. No easy way to cool down when I can't slug milk or eat a slice of bread. Once I hit my goal weight and start easing back into carbs, mac & cheese will have to be a go-to.

Grabbed a pack and fired one up. You're right - hot but tolerable. Could do the whole bowl without milk.

Did appreciate a quick drink of it at the end, though. I could even drink some Coke while I was eating it.

Excellent stuff. Worth the $7 for a 5 pack for sure.
