Watkins/Hardman/Robinson/Pringle: 5 catches, 31 yards

Total no show tonight by the non-Kelce/Tyreek pass catching options.

Add WR depth to the list of needs this offseason, right up there with offensive line IMO.

Still holding out hope but it needs to happen next season and it needs to happen in a big way.
No, you are correct. There used to be a saying that the 3rd year is make or break for a WR. I'm not sure it takes that long any more. He is great once he gets the ball in his hands -- remarkable talent. But he just seems to lack the game awareness to be a great option after Hill and Kelce. Watkins played that role last year, but neither Hardman or Robinson were able to step up this year, despite infinite chances. I like Pringle, but he will always be JAG.

Need more weapons.

With how much we’re paying the top of our roster we don’t have the luxury of waiting 3 years for a high draft pick to develop. In the off chance he does show something he will leave in free agency anyways. Now we’re also left hoping Gay can take the next step in 2021 after showing little development all year.

This was not a weapons issue. Mahomes never had the opportunity to show his real skills, which are reading defenses, throwing into tight windows, looking off safeties. He was running for his life, and only through sheer talent did he get passes on target.

I have no idea how he didn't take more sacks.

As a whole the defense played well for the whole game. They held Tb to just 340 yards total. Just 195 yard passing. You can't really ask for more than that. Hell, if you told me before the game that our defense would hold Tb to just 340 yards passing/rushing, I'd have laughed and said we win easily.

We lost because the OL just couldn't hold up, period. The loss of Fish and Schwartz turned out to be a much bigger issue than anyone of us thought. And that's not anyone's fault. They got hurt, and there was no predicting that. I expect Veach to address the OL in the offseason. No reason to think he won't.
Yep. But some of us did think the OL would get owned tonight due to the circumstances, and our biggest fear going into the game was realized. Regardless, it does not make it any easier to stomach.

This is true to a certain extent.

Just look at Hardman next to Thornhill - they were 2nd rounders in the same draft.

One of them is a gadget player, the other is a borderline pro-bowler had he not had the season-ending injury last year.

Needs this offseason:

WR
Offensive Line
More offensive line
Offensive line on top of your offensive line
WR who can dual-threat as an offensive lineman

There were times when the protection did hold up (they were few and far between but they were there) and literally nobody was open.

It's not black and white.

Thornhill is the exception to our 2nd rounders lately and IMO what should be expected more often than not out of a 2nd round pick.

I want that Penn State TE in the draft. TB took away the outside deep throws and everyone else will do that.

Teams will be doing that all next year and another weapon like this kid in the middle of the field will rape LB’s

In the rare occasion that he actually had time he threw some pretty nice balls.

Mahomes was pressured on 60% of his drop backs compared to Brady only being pressured 4%. However Mahomes had 70 more yards passing than Brady did

another source of our problems, paying roughly 25% or more of the salary cap to a DL that made a couple of plays early and did nothing the rest of the game. That salary commitment prevents spending elsewhere.
