Chris Jones?

Anyone else getting worried about our situation with Chris Jones? With a potentially reduced Salary Cap we might not be able to pay him what we thought we could, not to mention he might not want to play under the cap... What would be a suitable trade for him if we're put in a tough spot and can't lock him down?

The tag will let us keep him another year. Then we trade him. If Jones has a great year then it should get us 1st round pick.

Going back to back is worth more than a first and second. One more year, let's make it count. Maybe, just maybe, he'll take a little less once he gets another ring during free agency next year. But I doubt it.

I don't think the cap will decrease. Causes too many issues. I believe they just hold the cap what it is now for several seasons to recoup whatever is lost.

I agree that it would be hard to reduce the cap (and getting the player's union to agree) without opening up the books to prove that it was necessary. So I'm expecting the cap to stay unchanged for as long as the owners can cry that their losing money without proving it.

How does it work at the end of next season if a long term deal doesn’t get done? Do we tag him again and trade him?

He'll probably hold out during TC. I'm fine w/ that. At this point it's expected.

He has to look out for himself, I can understand that.

Let him play his butt off for a new long term deal from a team tbd. Hopefully he stays healthy and ends up being a big part in Chiefs running it back.

This team has invested a great deal in the DL. We all knew Chiefs would have to make some difficult decisions - which means letting some guys they can't afford no matter how much it stings.

This team is all in on giving Mahomes weapons and watch him work his magic.

Just hope they don't completely ignore the defense as DV did in early 2000's.

I love Chris Jones, I don't think you spend money on interior D-Line, draft capital sure... I just don't think you are better giving them money.

I'd much rather they invest in O-Line than D-Line
