So lets talk some legit options for our pick.

So with Breeland coming back that pretty much leaves us open to take the best player on the board.

I'd like in this thread to post some videos and such since in a lot of threads there are questions about how good a guy is and what he can do so twitter and youtube of course are great for vids.

Even though I've pined for Willie Gay quite a bit there are numerous other guys I'd be fine with using our pick on because well they'd be fine fits.

So I'll start with some Willie Gay video since I've been asked a few times what he's good at...

I think the defense has serious question marks, but they may be easily answered and can vastly improve with a good draft and bringing in some good pick ups.

If they can play like they did the back part of the season, through 16 games, then of course they would be rated a lot higher. But there are legit questions there.

Of course with Mahomes we will be a top ranked offense. C/G and RB are biggest weakness or questions on offense. Backup TE and WR will also want to be addressed on offense as well.

Regardless, they should have some great competition at some key spots.
It’s pretty obvious why we struggled the first 11 games with a new staff and all the turnover personnel wise.

What reason do you have to be concerned that we will regress back into those 11 games?

I mean they did it in the ****ing SB against a top 5 offense and you’re talking like they haven’t proven anything. What the **** more do you need to see?

[Rotoworld] In a poll of 17 NFL executives, CeeDee Lamb marginally edged out Jerry Jeudy as the top WR prospect. Scouts compared Lamb to Chad Johnson and Anquan Boldin. Laviska Shenault was voted the likeliest wideout to be a draft bust.

In a poll of 17 NFL executives by The Athletic's Bob McGinn, Colorado WR Laviska Shenault was voted the likeliest wideout to be a draft bust.
Shenault received eight of the 17 votes, Baylor's Steven Mims got four, and Clemson's Tee Higgins received two to round out the top three in that poll. Shenault underwent core-muscle surgery in late February after the Combine, and with the COVID-19 pandemic, teams haven't really been able to get their medical eyes on him. “Mental and injury,” one scout replied when asked why Shenault was his choice to bust. “He’s always been the best guy on his team. You put him in one position and he’s just going to flounder. He’s head and shoulders in the bust factor above everyone else. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a big fall.” Another scout compared Shenault to Cordarrelle Patterson in terms of his future NFL role. "Little bit immature but, my God, is he big and powerful,” another scout said. "He’s a power guy, and those guys play.”

So you see the defense starting out like they did last season instead of how they ended? I just don’t buy that. We allowed the least ppg the last half of the season. Every critical part is coming back. We are a very balanced team.

You watch tape on him and a few things jump out:

1) He is really, really shifty. He has every elusive skill set you can think of.

- juke moves - he sets them up really well, has quick feet and flexible hips, and is able to cycle through/chain juke moves without losing speed
- spin moves - again, has a really nice spin move and can work through solid contact without losing balance/falling
- jump cuts - not usual for guys with good jukes, but he has a dynamite jump cut

All that adds up to make him a back who can make chicken salad out of chicken shit

2) Hands. He's a pass-catcher. Swift is already a very polished receiving back. His shiftiness is really dangerous in the open field, especially on check downs.

3) Long speed - OK, it's not great. This isn't a twitched up 4.35 back.

4) Contact balance - it's solid. He's not an incredibly physical runner. He can break tackles, but it's more about his shiftiness than being able to bounce through arm tackles.

I think he would add a very dangerous dimension to Andy Reid's offense and give them a LOT of options for changing plays at the line (motioning him into the slot out of a two TE set and going empty if a team goes heavy against the run).

I have been a Dobbins guy, but Swift just fits so well.

If the Chiefs took Swift at 32 I wouldn't complain a bit.

Eight. JALEN REAGOR, TCU (5-10 ½, 206, 4.46, 1-2): The third-year junior posted the best broad jump (11-6) of the top 25 wideouts. “Holy shit, he’s exciting,” said one scout. “His speed and run after … we’re looking for explosive playmakers. His punt returns were like holy hell. … His skill set is outstanding.” Finished with 148 catches for 2,248 (15.2) and 22 TDs. “He’s faster and quicker than CeeDee or (Justin) Jefferson,” said a second scout. “He’s tough, he’ll catch in the middle and he takes the ball away from people. But, if the ball’s not coming to him, he doesn’t do much. He doesn’t block. He hardly gets off the line of scrimmage sometimes. He is a talented, talented kid, but his body language and attitude, from film only, is bad. Kind of a reluctant football player. When the ball’s coming to him he’s full-speed.” He posted 13 on the Wonderlic. “He may be the most explosive guy coming out of this draft,” said a third scout. “Quick and aggressive, plays fast, quick hands. Can he be a slot receiver, too? I think he can.” From Waxahachie, Texas. Added a fourth scout: “If I want a jet sweep guy I want Reagor. That (guy) is fast.”

Yeah, I would roll that into his juke moves. He is so, so shifty. Would be dynamite in screen game and on checkdowns.

I get it. But I’ve been a chiefs fan for a long time is my main reason for concern 😂

I remember a time when people agreed with Whitlock who said we’d go 16-0 with Chester the molester and DT! So I’m just a natural skeptic.

Most teams rise up their play for champions, teams will for sure be gunning for the chiefs.

Every game will be a battle.

There is a lot of hope they play like a top 5 defense for sure. Very anxious to see how the defense gels.

I’m not in KC, but that’s what people I come across are questioning

Yeah. Already has 2 of them, though.

I'm not sold on a lineup of 3 receivers with that skillset as the top 3 guys. You need to be able to diversify what your WRs do at least a little bit.

I don't want a big, slow, slant guy (Dwayne Bowe in prime) but they do need a little bigger WR, IMO, who can get off the line against press a little better than these types usually can.

That’s why Aiyuk is a better fit to replace Watkins IMO.

With his freakish long arms for a guy his size and RAC ability, he gives us a little something different from Hardman/Hill while still having the speed to challenge vertically like Sammy.

Disagree. Aiyuk is not a physical wide receiver in the least bit. He’s all finesse, and needs to be schemed open (although Andy does that well).

The Watkins comparison is a bad one.

I understand the logic, but do we really need that type of guy?

Andy's pretty good at moving guys around and not many teams risk pressing us anyway.

What the ****? Watkins is a physical WR now? Where did I even use the word physical to describe Aiyuk? Are you ****ing reeruned?

The comparison I’m making with Watkins was simply that they’re more RAC guys with a little more size/length than Hardman/Hill. That and they still have the speed to challenge vertically. I said nothing about physicality. You don’t need to be physical to be good after the catch.
