I'd like in this thread to post some videos and such since in a lot of threads there are questions about how good a guy is and what he can do so twitter and youtube of course are great for vids.

Even though I've pined for Willie Gay quite a bit there are numerous other guys I'd be fine with using our pick on because well they'd be fine fits.

I still think if we go that route that it will be Jeremy Chinn. He fits what we’re looking for better than those guys because he could end up at WLB long term while giving you a “starting” sub package LB right now.

McKinny actually could give you reps at both safety spots, slot and sub LB......Delpit has elite speed so he could take the entire middle by himself opening up Thornhill and Mathieu to move....

Winfield is like a Mathieu clone.

I agree with all of that and all 3 of those guys have versatility that would make sense at 32.

I’m just saying I think they’d like a long term solution at LB (with more upside) better. Either of those guys are still your 3rd safety, whereas Chinn could be your starting WLB in a year (maybe even less).

McKinney would be a no-brainer at #32, and Delpit would not necessarily be a shock either. They have the athleticism and football iq to be deployed in multiple ways. As huge as Sorenson was during the playoff run, he will get exposed by most offenses. Chinn has exciting potential in a similar role but his competition level concerns me. I’m not taking him at #32 - maybe with a trade back to middle of Round 2, but not before.

I see where you are going with that, however in todays game, safeties that can play a bunch of spots are basically starters now, any of those guys would see starter number of reps.

Yea I don’t think it’s a huge difference. I’m just putting the pieces together based on reports that the Chiefs are looking for a coverage LB (and their attempts to find one with DOD and Lee).

Teams see Chinn as a guy that’s one hell of a consolation prize if you missed out on Simmons. Other than Young and maybe Okudah, I don’t think the Chiefs would have anybody higher on their board than Simmons.

Yea their athletic profiles are near identical. Simmons is a little bigger and a little faster, while Chinn is a little more explosive. It’s very close.

But yea I saw that too. First, Matt Miller reported it than Peter King said a GM told him 40% of teams have Henderson higher. I don’t quite believe it’s that high, but it has to be significant.
