So lets talk some legit options for our pick.

So with Breeland coming back that pretty much leaves us open to take the best player on the board.

I'd like in this thread to post some videos and such since in a lot of threads there are questions about how good a guy is and what he can do so twitter and youtube of course are great for vids.

Even though I've pined for Willie Gay quite a bit there are numerous other guys I'd be fine with using our pick on because well they'd be fine fits.

So I'll start with some Willie Gay video since I've been asked a few times what he's good at...

What has Matt Verderame ever broken about the Chiefs? Didn’t he have a really rough offseason last year? I just don’t see why we should take anything that guy says seriously.

If you want to take an OT.....grab one in the 4th or 5th round that has upside.

OT classes like this just don’t happen very often. You usually have have to have a top 15 pick to be able to get a quality one bc there’s usually only 2 or 3 available. This year there’s 6.

Josh Jones and Ezra Cleveland are very likely going in the first rd. They’re top 15 picks in most other drafts, but this year they are the 5th and 6th best at the position.

If you think this isn’t a possibility, then you clearly don’t know who Andy Reid is or his affinity for talented and especially gifted athletic linemen (OL or DL).

This is a very similar situation to Chris Jones. Talent at a tough position to find is available bc of the strength of the position in the draft class.

The Chiefs also did a facetime with one of the mid round OT's, Cameron Clark I think his name is.

This couldn’t be further from the truth. This is a great OT class at the top. There are 4 legit top 15 talents.

After that there’s certainly talent, but guys like Jones and Cleveland will be overdrafted, not the other way around. This isn’t the WR class we’re talking about here. Positional value pushes everybody up, unlike WR.

Most people do not have a 1st round grade on Cleveland. Some have as low of a 3rd round grade. In other words, you’re way off here bud. Cleveland is absolutely not a top 32 player in this draft. That’s not just my opinion, it’s an overwhelming consensus.

Jones at 32 would actually be good/equal value, but you’re kidding yourself if you think he make it there. There’s absolutely no chance of that happening. I’m just saying they won’t take an OT at 32 if it’s BPA. I’m saying it 100% won’t be.

If either of those two were drafted in the top 15 in any draft, it wouldn’t be because they’re top 15 players. It would be a ridiculous reach. Just look at last years draft. Neither of these guys are anywhere near as good as Jonah Williams who went 11th.

Yes, I looked into it and want him even more.

He said he was looking into entering the draft last year and was told he needed to be a better football player and better man.

He went and did it. He hasn't been arrested, got in scrapes..was just a bit of a punk and now he is acting like a guy that expects to be in the NFL.

“From the moment he said he was coming back to school, you could see a change in his whole demeanor,” Fuller said. "He was doing community service like going to schools, talking to kids about his journey, what to do, what not to do.

“He was a huge leader in our DB room. By the end of our year, he was one of our biggest leaders on the whole defense — giving speeches to the whole team. He’s definitely somebody that everybody listens to and takes really, really seriously, because they know he’s about his business."

By graduating last summer, Arnette was able to shift more of his focus to football. He credited former Ohio State co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach Jeff Hafley for helping him develop a routine to take into the NFL."

Besides, you’re not going to convince me that a team that is clearly going all-in on a repeat is going to waste their 1st round pick on a guy that will be on the bench for all of 2019 barring injury.

I don’t think RB in the 1st is likely either, but it’s definitely more likely than OT. Swift is a top 15 talent and will have an immediate impact. Cleveland is top 40-50 at best.

Most unlikely 1st round picks:

1. QB
2. TE
3. OT
4. RB

RB is the only one that I even think is a legitimate possibility considering who should be available and potential impact.

Now Now there are ones more unlikely than that....

TE is 0%, DT is probably very low also. Actually think WR is too.

A lot of this depends on who is there obviously but if I was going to list order of likely positional picks it'd probably look like this..

CB
LB
DE
RB
S

All obviously depending which players are there.

DT depends on the negotiations with Chris Jones. If he isn't going to sign long term they might want to get his replacement.

WR only has Tyreek Hill and Hardman past this year.

Completely forgot about TE, but I disagree with DT. Maybe if you’re counting out guys like Davidson and Epenesa because you list them as edge rushers, but since those guys are SDE’s that would slide inside in passing downs, I’m including them.

But yea they aren’t drafting a pure DT either.

Oh well I have Epenesa at end, I don't expect him to make it to the Chiefs pick but yea.

If there is a pick that stuns people or makes people kinda double take, it'll be safety.
