So lets talk some legit options for our pick.

So with Breeland coming back that pretty much leaves us open to take the best player on the board.

I'd like in this thread to post some videos and such since in a lot of threads there are questions about how good a guy is and what he can do so twitter and youtube of course are great for vids.

Even though I've pined for Willie Gay quite a bit there are numerous other guys I'd be fine with using our pick on because well they'd be fine fits.

So I'll start with some Willie Gay video since I've been asked a few times what he's good at...

With this WR class I just can’t see RB being taken with our first pick. Mark me down for this one bc I’m pretty comfortable predicting it: if the Chiefs take a weapon early it will be Jalen Reagor

Trade Back into the 2nd and get another pick

JK Dobbins, RB
Michael Pittman, WR

come into play.
If those guys are all gone, other supremely talented guys will have fallen to that spot. We’ll have great choices at 32.

There very well could be a surprise player that drops. That's the great thing about where we are right now. Just keep hitting on picks and adding great football players and we will be in it every year with Mahomes.

It’s not even about surprise players; it’s that only 31 players can be chosen before our pick and this draft is deep with talent. The more QBs that go in that 31, the better.

Just me spitballing here....

The roster is in good shape and there are not a lot of glaring needs. I think a few things will dictate the pick at #32:

1) Unexpected drop of a top 20-25 player on their board
2) I think the interior offensive line, and yes, the cornerback position is artificially inflated in this draft. The Breeland signing mitigates a bit of the need at Corner.
3) Linebacker is the biggest need. The Chiefs need a coverage backer, and a replacement for Ragland.

Depending how the board falls, the Chiefs might find themselves in a position where the elite corners are gone, Murray, Queen, and Simmons will be long gone, and then they might be left looking at offensive skill positions or slightly reaching on interior offensive line help.

- I think if one of the top 3 LB’s are on the board, that will be the pick. Large need at the position, and the players are worthy of that draft slot.
- Names to look for if the lb’s are gone?: Epenesa, Gross-Matos, Becton, Jones as surprise sliders.
- If the Chiefs think they can get great value later in the draft at running back or wide receiver, I think that is where they will draft offense. But I also think there is an argument that can be made where the elite safeties McKinney and Delpit, could easily be the pick because of their versatility.

I also hope teams reach for crappy CB's and make a mistake on WR.

Look at New England last year. They took N'Keal Harry last year when

McLaurin
Metcalf
Samuel
Hardman
AJ Brown

on the board as better WR options.

It's the Chiefs biggest need on offense by a wide margin and it could easily be argued that it's the biggest need overall.

Williams is fine. Thompson and Washington are good enough fill ins. Beef up the interior o line and we can plug any serviceable back in there and be fine.

Complete and utter horseshit.

Williams can't stay healthy. He's 28 and never played in all 16 games. The Chiefs signed worthless old ass LeSean McCoy, who singlehandedly lost the Colts game and the other scrubs didn't do dick the entire season, which nearly led to them missing the #2 Seed, leaving them zero chance at the #1 seed.

If you want to see a 9-7 or 10-6 team this season, ignore the running back position because that's what you'll be looking at this year if the Chiefs don't add a true feature back.

Damien Williams, Darrel Williams, Darwin Thompson, DeAndre Washington, Elijah McGuire, Mike Webber and Marcus Marshall.

We ran the ball 37% of the snaps last year, 11% of those were to either the TE or WR. In other words 26% of the snaps went to a RB, with the stable we have combined with the way we use the RB position you shouldn't put a top 100 pick let alone your first pick into that position.
Stats provided by Chris Simms podcast.

Dude is a baller. He reminds me of Mr. October, you know Reggie Jackson. All he does is show up in the playoffs and Super Bowl and dominate.
