We’re set for quite awhile.
Whenever I talk to opposing fans I remind them we have about a 21 year or maybe 20 year window. You can see their soul fill up with jealousy. It really is a great sight to see.

And that’s probably for the best. With the way everyone is connected to social media, it’s pretty much impossible for our guys not to hear what the “experts” are saying. There’s pretty much no way that our players will look past this game. They should be extra motivated to avenge that loss.

I think KC already has plenty of motivation to get payback, but I am in favor of the media reminding the KC players of that earlier game. It will keep the players focused.

The previous game against them was very weird indeed. They had the ball for 40 FECKING MINUTES, got a fumble recovery near the redzone, didn't face Jones or Fisher and Pat re-injured his ankle and they only won by one score?????? Oh, and that's not even mentioning the refs fecking up that call on Kelce when caused the Mahomes interception.

There is a little fear because Watson can be very good when he's on his game but even against the Bills he was totally shut down for the whole of the first half and then was forced to run for a TD out of desperation and that changed everything. Defensively I see holes which Pat could take full advantage of. They have Conley at corner who got torn to pieces when he was with the Raiders and we played them earlier in the season. They also have a back-up safety playing after losing Teshaun Gipson.

As for the Chiefs...just hoping Andy has a ton of stuff dialled up and ready to go....gonna also be watching young Watts closely. I really hope the kid can grab his chance and play like the stud we all thought he could be last season. One thing for sure is we CANNOT let Hyde run all over our field and we've got to make them one dimensional. If it turns into a shootout then fair enough..just don't allow them to keep the ball for ridiculous amounts of time this time.

And lastly...saw some talking heads talking about how the Bills game plan was to force Watson to run to his left because the word around the league is he can't throw moving to his left!!!.. so Spags will most certainly be trying to put that to the test.

The Chiefs were shorthanded with injuries and the defense was a cluster**** that yielded 40 minutes time of possession to Carlos ****ing Hyde for Houston to eke out a victory late.

Yeah, I like our chances.

As much as Clay is being a pussy, he is right that the Texans are probably the 2nd best offense left in the AFC for a shootout after us, especially in the passing game.

Hopkins, Stills, Fuller. Duke Johnson is a nice receiving back too.

Yes it does suck that Thornhill is out, but we do have Fuller, who is so much better with things in front of him as a safety. I think Spags will roll almost exclusively with cover 2 and cover 2 looks. HB will be up front in his element and we’ll likely have a spy on Watson like the Bills did.

The number 1 priority has to be stopping the run and getting them in long distance situations. If we do that, I’m very confident that Spags will have an entire chapter of blitz packages set up to confuse Watson.

I wouldn’t call it overconfidence. I think people are looking at what all we were missing in the first game. This will be the third game this season that Pat isn’t on the injury report so keep that in mind too.

Texans have only scored 30 or above twice this season whilst we have scored 30 plus seven times and this was without Pat for two and a half games. It also wasn't that long ago when they got destroyed at home by the Donks with a rookie qb.

Yeah, I like our chances.
Don't forget that we were getting ready to go up 17-0 when Mahomes threw an interception because Kelce was tackled to the ground. PI was called, accepted, marked off, ready to snap...then a buzz from New York negated it all.

We should win this game by double digits. We are better in every possible aspect. But would not be surprised at all if it's just under the spread.

So I have a friend from college - we'll call him Dan, because that's his name - who is from St. Louis and was a big (some might have said obnoxious) Rams in college, and is also a huge Cardinals fan/homer. Dan lives in Columbia now and is not handling the Patrick Mahomes Chiefs era very well (funny how quickly he has gotten tired of hearing how good Mahomes is and how good Chiefs fans, etc.). Anyway, Dan attempts to troll me regarding the Chiefs/Mahomes from time to time and has popped up doing it again this week.

He started up a bit yesterday/today about the matchup with the Texans. So I did some statistical digging and was SHOCKED at how bad the matchup starts to look for Houston once you do that.

First, on defense... you're talking about a bottom five pass defense, that doesn't sack the passer (bottom 5 in that, too), that was dead last in the NFL in red zone percentage defense (5 percent worse than the next worst team and a whopping 27 percent worse than the median), that also was rough against the run (gave up the same YPC as the Chiefs).

Then you look at the offense, their bread and butter... and it's really just OK (probably why they were outscored on the year despite finishing 10-6). Watson holds the ball a lot, and the Texans were 30th in sack percentage as a result. Their passing offense is slightly above-average but not by much. They run the ball slightly better than they pass it, compared to the league, but are not an elite rushing team, either.

When you stack it up:
Chiefs passing defense vs. Houston passing defense: Advantage KC
Chiefs rushing offense vs. Houston rushing defense: Advantage KC
Houston passing offense vs. Chiefs passing defense: Advantage KC
Houston rushing offense vs. Chiefs rushing defense: Advantage Houston
Special teams returns: Advantage KC
Special teams kicking: Big advantage KC
