Alex Smith expresses his desire to return to Chiefs in 2018

GO AWAY YOU ****ING LOSER. LEAVE NOW AND NEVER COME BACK.

Alex Smith expresses his desire to return to Chiefs in 2018

Quote:
The Kansas City Chiefs' season ended earlier than they anticipated.

The No. 4 seed in the AFC coughed up an 18-point lead in a 22-21 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Saturday, setting up an offseason of uncertainty.

Chief among that will be quarterback Alex Smith.

Despite leading Kansas City to a 10-6 record and AFC West title, the Chiefs are said to be open to trading the veteran pivot. The team set up its future by trading up in April's draft to select quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Smith has just one year left on his four-year, $68-million contract, and intends to see it through.

"Yeah, I mean, you kidding me? I signed the contract," Smith said when asked after the game if he'd like to stay in Kansas City
, according to Nick Shook of NFL.com.

"I'm under contract for another year, so like I said, I'm not thinking about anything else. Right now, obviously disappointed. Like I said, I felt like we had a good chance, and it's gone."

Under Smith's direction, the Chiefs raced out to a 5-0 start to the season, hit a lull in which they lost six of their next seven games, then won their final four contests.

On Saturday, Smith threw two first-half touchdowns to give Kansas City a 21-3 cushion, but went 5 of 10 for 33 yards in the second half.

The 13-year veteran wasn't prepared to dive further into his future so soon after the loss.

"The game just ended," Smith said. "We'll get into all of that in the next couple of weeks."

What in the world have you seen from Alex smith that would make you believe he would’ve overcame 30 points from the packers, a 18 point deficit against the falcons and a 20 point deficit against the ravens to not just lead the 49ers to the super bowl, but five yards from getting a ring? Hate kaepernick all you want for his off field crap, but he took that team to the super bowl. He nearly did it again the following year while smith was choking against the colts. That was the right move by harbaugh.

Smith is the number 1 problem. In his five years here, he’s had elite defenses, elite running backs, elite tightend and now an elite and world class speed receiver and all he has to show for is a win against Brian Hoyer. Stop making excuses for that bum.

Maybe.....but they never got the ring with Krap so who knows lol? Again, these are just my opinions. Reids playoff record is abysmal....and he reps the number one problem before Smith does. Smith may not be a great QB but he is pretty good.....There are worse QBs still playing this year

If we're being honest, the real number 1 problem is the head coach. His Eagle teams seemed to choke a lot in the playoffs. McNabb was (IMHO) a better QB than Alex and it didn't seem to matter for Philly. Reid also had some great defenses in Philly too and they choked every year.

At this point you can only hope Mahomes' improvisational ability outside of Reid's playcalling script will be good enough to elevate the Chiefs into a real contender over time.

I don’t know if smith is any good or not and quite frankly I don’t care anymore. We know his limit. They’ve given this guy everything he’s needed to succeed and he just can’t do it. Theyve given him elite defenses and weapons on offense. Last year we even had he best and number one scoring special teams. There’s nothing else we can give him. It’s time to move on and give someone else a shot.

I really dont give a crap about Smith but just being logical. Im all for going all in for Mahomes but I`m also a realist in that I need to see him for more than one NFL game to have a valid opinion of his future. Heck, we need to see how he does over a couple of seasons to truly see if he is for real or not. This league is filled with one year wonders at QB only to watch many become average at best over time. This is why it is called entertainment

edited to add: No matter who is QB, I believe Reid gets outcoached continuously in post season games and THAT will remain the number one problem...

There’s only so much reid can do. If smith is so great it wouldn’t have mattered that Reid chose to not run the ball in the second half. Smith should’ve been able to at least lead one field goal drive. He couldn’t, just like in Indianapolis. And by the way, the titans has one of the best run defense in the league and one of the worst secondary. It was really not that bad of an idea to pass.

I wouldn't call his playoff record abysmal. He does have 11 playoff wins. What I see in McNabb that we don't have in Alex is that McNabb could improvise when the play broke down. And there's still that off chance that the team could be good enough to overcome your dumb coach. The eagles made a super bowl and nearly won it. It's a big expectation for mahomes but at least that ceiling is there. I don't love that a super bowl is an outside chance with Reid. But it's not like we're Marty schottenheimer or marvin lewis doomed.

I am pissed at Reid for two things and one thing only. Not starting Mahomes from the very beginning of the season and not benching Smiff during his horrendous slump and starting the Mahomes era. We would be getting ready for next week if he had. He is a better coach than Smiff is a QB.

A whole thread of pitiful Alexcuses.

Thank God those days and Smith's useless career as a Chief are dead and gone.

Gonna be a glorious day. CAN'T WAIT so I can quit reading this stupid shit. I turned to my Steeler buddy during the game and asked him, does Big Ben get it done in this situation? We both broke out laughing.......of course he at least generates a FG drive in the second half. This no zone reading pussy couldn't even do THAT. "I had a good first half, it's not my fault, I did my job". Don't work that way btich. After the fumble on the punt, what did he do? Not a ****ing thing. The first thing I said was TAKE A ****ING SHOT AT THE END ZONE and put the game away.......nothing of the sort happened. What a bitch. BYE FALEXCIA!!!!!!

Alex is that dude at the club that brags that he didn't get turned down by anybody but gets no pussy because he stays on the wall all night, scared to approach that dime piece.
