In a game the Chiefs lost by six points, Alex Smith missed three wide open TDs

And yes he had a clean pocket on the second one.

When has this happened before...against the Steelers...in a crucial game....

Spoiler!

Flame away.

Who can definitively say that Robinson did not shorten his route a step or two? If he did.. Smith wouldn't have known it, as he.. again... was looking left to throw coverage off.

I'm just saying it's possible... and makes a lot more sense than claiming for certain that Smith suddenly has no accuracy.
Alex Smith was one of the top 5 worst passers in the NFL last year over 10 yards.

So we shouldn't be surprised when he reverts to form against an elite pass defense.

You're a ****ing lying, full of shit, turd bucket.

Throwing an innacurate pass doesn't mean he's innacurate.

He's gotta make a better throw there. Overthrows happen but damn that one couldn't have been times worse

you really slept and thought about it and the best you could come up with is we couldnt get more than 19 points?

we gave the offense back the ball, down by 6 with 2 minutes to go..I believe..

didnt those two guys make their livings from that scenario?

Youre saying they wouldnt have gotten more than a single 1st down in the 1st half?

Sorry, not buying what you are selling. we were in this game until the end with chances to win even AFTER the fluke face mask bounce

Our usually accurate qb misses throws and sometimes doesn’t see wide open receivers. Passes that should be picked instead bounce off faces and end up as TD’s. James Harrison destroys Eric Fishers soul. The norm when we play the Steelers.

I appreciate someone actually trying to have a conversation, and not flailing like a small child.

So honestly, you leave no room for the possibility of my suspicion on this particular QB to WR failed connection?

No young, unseasoned WRs ever run inaccurate routes that make their QBs look bad?

Again, I can't say this is concrete truth.. can we say it isn't?

He was so wide open it doesn't take a precision or timing pass.

The first half was a complete offensive failure. Nobody showed up.

He missed his raised hands by a yard.. maybe yard and a half. It was closer than you may remember.. and running a route a yard or two short can make the difference. Can you at least agree to this much?

yeah its fair to wonder if two hall of famers wouldve gotten a 1st down in the 1st half or earned more than -2 points on their own in the 1st half...

its fair to wonder if they could execute a 2 minute drill...in the 4th q

its also fair to wonder why water is wet or how magnets work

On the pass in the endzone? No that was a missed throw. Granted he's fading from pressure but it's an innacurate throw. The route wouldn't make a difference as the throw was out of bounds.

The deep in route in 2nd down, eh maybe. But another yard deeper doesn't matter from the wr based on where the throw was.

Smith missed them

Thank you very much. I hope I am wrong and that the history of the Chiefs is totally meaningless.

I felt this way when the decision was made and I feel no differently now. Tired of retreads, taking cast offs from other teams, doing it the Patriot way, the five year plan, blah, blah, blah.

Hoping Mahomes will make a difference, if the entire team is in an ambulance, it won't matter.

totally agree here...

1 1st down

something like -5 rushing yards

i forget but i think around 30 passing yards

6 possesions and only 3 points , but from a ST recovery

they gave away 2 points on a safety, so essentially the offense was -2 points and pretty much zero help in the 1st half....

You're not going to run a route to precisely the same yard every time. Stop excusing a bad throw
