Trading Smith for premium picks sounds nice in theory, but this isn't about Smith or picks. This is about what is best for Mahomes. 100%.

Unless he surprises everyone, I think he needs a year on the bench.

I wish people would about Smith...they already drafted Mahomes. Does every thread HAVE to turn into telling everybody about how much they dont like him? How he doesn't throw long often enough?

The same shit repeated every day for the 100,000th time, no matter what the thread is about? Mahomes isn't going to start this year. Give it a rest...it's in everyone's best interest if Smith has a great season...

All I want is Alexandra Daddario to let me have my way with her - that shit ain't happening.

And neither is Alex Smith throwing 4-5 deep balls a game. Hell, he won't throw 2. He won't throw 4-5 from 15-25. Take all your dreams there and cut them in half and he MIGHT hit them. Might. I'd still say he won't. The guy is what he is and no amount of camp nonsense or 'this time it's different' bullshit from him or Reid will change that.

Smith's a non-factor for this football team. He won't be the reason we win anything this year.

The Dolphins are in need right now, just like the Vikes were when Teddy got hurt. Now is the time if they want any return on him.

No reason to trade Alex. It sounds like Tannehill is fine anyways, and even if he wasn't, they have a solid backup in Matt Moore.

If we trade Alex we might get a 1st round pick, sure. But is that worth it? The pick probably ends up in the low 20s.

Its all about Mahomes, guys. Throwing him into the fire week one in Foxboro against New England does not sound like a good long term (or short term) strategy. They have to do whatever it takes to help Patrick transition seamlessly into a long term successful career. This isn't about 2017.

The Alex Smith obsession is ridiculous.

It's because most fans are sentimental idiots who think football is an individual sport.

It's about what is best for the Chiefs not Mahomes. Mahomes is one player who isn't even going to play this season. He will play when he is ready but still a team game. Always will be.

Inconclusive

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/sp...165284727.html

Ryan Tannehill’s MRI this afternoon to determine the extent of his new left knee injury proved inconclusive, requiring further study, and all options remain on the table per multiple sources.

That means that in the worst-case scenario, it could still be determined that Tannehill needs surgery on his left knee. It could also mean, however, that the quarterback could once again avoid surgery and find a way to get back on the field this season.

Reports that Tannehill basically got a clean bill of health from the MRI are not correct at this time because further examination of that MRI may give a specialist pause.

Tannehill’s MRI result and perhaps even the player will be examined by more doctors before a final determination is made and a plan for recovery is drawn up.
