MELLINGER: Should The Chiefs Move On From Smith?
Yep, another Alex Smith thread - but a solid and fair read from Sam Mellinger.

This is not a call for the Chiefs to walk away from Alex Smith, even though this is the first offseason since his arrival in which they could do it without a fatal salary cap hit. This is a call for them to look, to try, to make sure they don’t have access to a better option — whether that’s Tony Romo in a trade, Deshaun Watson in the draft (which would almost certainly require a trade up), or anything else.

Jesus Christ you guys are fixated on one play meanwhile Smith had 5 passes dropped by receivers, he hits Kelce for 17 yards on a 2nd and 25 to keep the drive going, hits a 4th down pass to Conley for 11 yards, hits a 4th down pass to sherman to set up a TD, hits maclin for 20 yards on 3rd and 20 after the Kelce penalty....

Far more positive than bad plays from our QB. You guys are blind.

Trading Alex is a financially tenable move. Coupling a trade with cutting Jamaal, Colquitt, Jah Reid gets you to $26 million in cap space. Plenty to sign Berry to an extension.

The article says should we move on from Smith... I give clear responses as to why he has not yet peaked nor was the problem for this year's deficiencies. Smith held up his bargain coming from the 2015 season. Swept the division, 2 huge comeback wins, and a first round bye. Improvement despite his #1 paid receiver playing like crap.
