Paxton Lynch

Qb from Memphis, on ABC right now against Ole miss.

He's endorsed by Sacofbats so, take caution, but I'm intrigued

Some Sanchez stats....

The two seasons (2009-2010) where the Jets reached the ACF championship game

Sanchez had 29 TDs vs. 33 INTs...and a passer rating of 69.

I'm liking the Paxton pick even more...not for the fact he has bust written all over him...but because Sanchez is their starter for the next two years.

The Broncos can still go out and sign Fitzpatrick for a year or so. He would at least be okay.

He wants starter money and Denver doesn't have it...

I get your point with Sanchez. That said - and I admit, I am a Denver homer - I think he's going to be fine, for a season. I'll throw out three reasons:

1) Sanchez is all in on this. I don't know what his attitude was like early in his career. But since the Broncos acquired him, he's sounded like a guy who sees this as the greatest opportunity of his career. He's had his receivers and tight ends out in California, working. He's hanging out with the OL all over town. If there is any chance to make this work, he seems willing to do everything in his power to take it.

2) His offensive coordinators with the Jets were Brian Schottenheimer and Tony Sparano - mostly Schottenheimer. Over the course of his career as OC, Schottenheimer's QBs have a TD-INT ratio of 180-169. (I've never really understood how he's stayed employed.) Kubiak's system is totally different, for QBs.

3) Sanchez has never had the supporting cast he'll have next year - not even close. He's never had a WR or TE have more than 56 catches in his career. The Broncos have two guys who can hit that in a half season.

What I think they can get out of him is something like 3500 20-10. What they got out of our QBs last year was 3970 19-23. And they did that with the worst offensive line play they've had, going back to before the Elway Super Bowl wins.

The QB situation is obviously not ideal. But I think it will be significantly improved over last season. And last season turned out okay.

Come on, we're the Broncos. We made it to the AFC Championship game with Jake freaking Plummer. Of course we're going to be okay with Sanchez.

Plummer had similar stats that were out of whack prior to coming to Denver.

Lynch will be good in Denver.

They ask their QB's to roll out and throw, and try not to turn the ball over. Pretty simple.
