Doesn't have to be an open wound you could get ring worm. Another High school here in town the football team had 5 kids getting staph. And their wrestling room some kids got staph too.

That's scary.

I thought the only people that had to worry about those were with weakened immune systems.

But maybe they're just at greater risk because I've heard several cases of young professional athletes getting it.

MRSA killed my SIL. She picked it up in the hospital and it was right downhill from there. She fought it for about 6 months but with her other health issues (diabetes due to weight issues, self imposed in many ways) she really had no real chance.

Will anti bacterial soap kill it?

Because I was told by CP it was worthless.

If it does I will slather it on because beach will dry me out.

I had a friend die from a staph infection. He was only in his 30s. He had moved to VEgas and I had lost touch with him, but I heard from mutual friends that he had done a good job turning his life around. Then staph infection and dead. WTF?!?

My Grandma got a rash right after being in a care facility for falling and breaking her clavicle. Her dumbass doctor brought up it maybe being MRSA, and did NOTHING about it.

We eventually got her to a dermatologist who diagnosed her with a medication reaction, but I was steady yelling at my parents 'why are they treating this so blithely?!?!'

Turns out afterwards, my mom said the chick doctor didn't have a diagnosis initially and suggested MRSA after basically plugging symptoms into WebMD like some ****ing housewife.

I had dinner at someone's house a few months ago, and her husband (who I hadn't met) had obvious back issues. At one point he volunteered, "I have Mercer's Disease and it settled into my spine."

I'd never heard of Mercer's Disease, so when we got home I looked it up and then washed my hands in horror for about a week straight. Should you really be cooking dinner for people when you have that?
