2015 Chiefs WR Core Worst in NFL?

There has been much talk this off season regarding the improvements to the much maligned 2014 KC wide receiver corps. The addition of Maclin and Avant (since Avant was a late season add last year) with the flash from Wilson toward the end of the season, the rebranding of DAT as a WR and the hope that Conley will be a player, many here see this as the best WR corps the Chiefs have had in some time.

It is - in my opinion - potentially the best WR corps Smith has ever played with in his 10 years in the league.

Yet, there is an article on Arrowhead Pride that lists Chiefs 2015 WR corps the worst in NFL.

http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2015/6...rs-weakest-nfl

What say you? Are we (many of us anyway) just drinking the Kool-aid, or do the Chiefs have something going on the outside?

we really don't know yet.

Maclin is the only proven stud that we have at the moment.

A group of WRs like the Jags have are all young and talented, but they're just as unproven, and they don't have a player like Maclin.

I still can't fathom how Tom Brady is able to operate with the diarrhea he has at WR.

Panthers are still pretty bad. I'm not that big of a Kelvin Benjamin fan, honestly.

Titans? Rams? Ravens? Did the Ravens re-sign Torrey Smith?

The Chiefs may have unprovens and crap behind Maclin, but they at least have Maclin. Those other teams don't.

No....the Ravens replaced Torrey Smith with Breshad Perriman.

Yeah... I knew they wouldn't be toward the top of the list, or even middle of the list, but ranked as worst was a little surprising. What it did for me was really bring me down to earth on Wilson specifically. The last few games of last year makes it easy to forget that he went undrafted in 2014.

Still have a big question mark at WR2 which I suppose is responsible for the low ranking. I still thought though that Maclin and Avant (aged, but still respected) would be enough to propel the Chiefs over someone...

I think it's off-season. I think that during off-season, reporters at times make a desperate reach for stories. I think that saying, the only receiving core to not score a TD in 2014, will be the worst receiving core in 2015, is lazy and easy journalism. I think there's nothing else that really needs to be said. Blah, blah, blah, nobody knows shit until the season starts. Next topic plz.

LaFell and Edelman aren't really that bad. They seem like solid WR2s working with a great QB.

Gronk pretty much holds that offense up though.

Edelman is great. LaFell is extremely average.

LaFell would produce AJ Jenkins numbers if he played with Alex Smith in KC. He's nothing special at all.

I think Albert Wilson will emerge as a solid #2 and with Conley and Dat we should be able to score through the air. Kelce will get a lot of attention, so that should free up the WR corps to do some damage.
I think Alex should be throwing to these guys as often as he can this offseason. He should almost live with Maclin...
