Just refuting a ridiculous post. Sagarin has the Big 12 at #2 in Football and #1 in Basketball right now.

Impressive in it's own way I suppose.
It's nice to have three *OY on the team. Don't suppose you will need to worry about that anytime soon.

Lots of highly talented players on this year's team, glad we aren't playing Stanford in the postseason.

1) The Big 12 does not offer as much TV viewership/interest in its footprint as the other leagues
1) a) Texas A&M already represents essentially the only populous state in the Big 12
2) The Big 12 does not have as the quantity of teams to offer compelling OOC matchups (ie, more compelling TV inventory synergies) to other conferences
3) The Big 12 does not play by the same rules in so far as having a league championship game (sure this was a disadvantage this year, but could easily benefit OU or Texas at some point)

So my question is, what is it that compels these other four power leagues to even engage the Big 12? Why not squeeze them out and make them die? This would decrease the supply of CFB games, which would increase the value of the remaining Power 4 games. It would simplify a more clear path to declaring a National Champion. Sure it would suck for the universities there, which could have been us, but why is that an obligation of the Power 4?

Maybe it would be so aggressive that it would have political backlash that would get the government involved in regulating things to ensure everyone has a fair chance. What if the Power 4 let in the MWC instead? Or the MAC? Or just mandated that only 14+ team leagues with Championships can participate...

What is better for CFB overall, a Power 4 or Power 5?
Lol nice try, but no.

That will be an interesting footnote to consider while picking Kentucky's crap out of your feathers after they shit on you and wiped their asses with Bevo.

Sucks, doesn't it...only ONE team in the SEC gives a shit about basketball, yet the Big 12 has to point to Sagarin while the SEC piles up championships?

Now that I think about it...does every major conference (plus the AAC) have at least one team with more basketball championships since the formation of the Big 12 than the entire Big 12? Haven't looked it up, so I could be wrong, but...

PAC: Arizona
B1G: Michigan State
SEC: Florida and Kentucky
ACC: Duke and North Carolina
AAC: UCONN

Big 12 is the bestest, though...

History always tells you who's good right now. Why do we even still play when there's history!?

Every time I read a KChiefs1 post I feel I've just accidentally pulled into handicapped parking space.

Who actually wrote this? I mean you obviously fail to have the brainpower to be this stupid, but I know you try. So give a little credit to the author.

Yeah. That was a pretty weak effort.

Kentucky is the best team. It's not close. The entire season is pointless. The only storyline of the entire year is whether or not the giant gimmick that is the 60-whatever team tournament will prevent the best team from being crowned champion. That's it.

The entire appeal of college basketball revolves around office pools and cheering for the best team to get beat.

Last year's team was better than this one, which is why the *OY and the New Year's Day bowl game are nice consolation prizes.

It's about generating TV ratings and interest in basketball, not about determining who is the best team.

Kentucky vs Duke is the only matchup that matters this year.

Kentucky is 6:5 to winthe while thing. 400 teams or whatever, and Kentucky versus the field is a coin flip. The top Big 12 team is 35:1.
