Looking long term the Colts are going to own their division for years. To get to the Super Bowl we are going to have to build our team to beat them, and then rely on that same general configuration that should keep us competitive in our division. What it means is we have to compete with the expectation that 70% of passes will be completed, and that means we will have to have an offense that consumes time when it wants to, and scores quickly when we need to. This points more to personnel than it does to Sutton. To get there we have to ugrade a guard position so that Davis can be more effective in the middle and so Alex has longer in the pocket to allow receivers to get open down the field more. So we have to upgrade at WR as well. Where it gets interesting is what to do defensively. What the Colts do so well, and always have done well is tackle. It forces more punts and their offense is on the field all the time. That is what we have to do. We made like so difficult all year by not delivering defensively on 3rd downs. We have to play close to the line of scrimmage like they do. To that end, we have to say goodbye to Hali. He doesn't fit what we have to do moving forward. Other secondary weak links obviously have to go too. The bottom line is we have to build this team to beat one team, the Colts, or we can forget the Super Bowl for another 15 years. It doesn't even matter what other teams in the league do. If there's a plan B then sell it.

You're a complete joke. You go on and on about how the NFL is fixed and is no different than pro wrestling--then what the **** does it matter what personnel we have?

it's still the best thing on TV, Sally.

don't get yer knickers twisted; a lot of people realize the NFL fixes games - it's not even a secret except to über-fanbois who base their entire spare income and free time around the sport.

I'm not special...just special to you. Which must be why you're trolling me around the board.

It's not "fixed" like the WWE. They don't rehearse the game before the game, but I think everybody's coming to grips with favorable slants in officiating to help favorable rating outcomes. They min in just enough of the other to be able to claim it isn't.

But what I'll defend, unless it's somehow "bought", is how a team like the Colts CAN Suck4Luck in a season and get a Luck, but we go 2-14 in a season that has a draft class like there was. I don't believe for a second that Indy didn't have it planned that way. Why the can't, or won't, or didn't, do that I'll never know. Perhaps they're just not into the game within the game. And Indy just sits back and laughs as the cards fall their way, stacked or not! I happen to think it was planned, and all part of "doing whatever it takes to win" and the just aren't that interested in it - or are getting something for not...

I'm afraid you're right, we'll have to deal with any number of years of his unimaginative fail before it's over.

Then again, if this scares him straight (and his old ass is willing to be less stupid), woot for the ... We'll see my friend, we'll see.

this is exactly what I'm talking about - 'fixing', as it's known, happens in the course of what is otherwise supposed to be a legitimate contest. WWE is completely staged.

and yeah, I agree 100% with the points you make.

Don't know much about Sutton. What kind of rep does he have
around the league. Know he worked with Ryan at NY who has a
good rep as a defensive minded guy. Is there hope?

I'm sure he's a nice guy... His kids, grandkids and great grandkids prolly think he's a swell guy with all the free NFL shit he can get them! And man-oh-man, those stories he can tell about the days of leather helmet football, starting the family model-t with a hand-crank, and trench warfare in France, are an added bonus for the family. And all they have to do is put a bib on him at dinner time and the nice nurse feeds him cheap baby food. Woot more money for the family!

Yeah, he's a gem!

And I hope he, and Fatty Andy, take all these insults as a challenge to prove me wrong, but they'll have to wait for next year to do that....
