It's a bit early and some team spots will change, but interestinf none the less. I don't agree with where they have the Chiefs end up but it's a 4 round mock.

Synopsis:

Round One




1. Miami Dolphins- Jake Long (OT) Michigan

Miami needs a lot of help, but they do have talent at QB, RB and WR, and a stud OL will help them too.


2. St Louis Rams- Glen Dorsey (DT) LSU

The Rams D is shocking, and Dorsey will provide them with a force in both stopping the run and rushing the QB.

3. New York Jets- Darren McFadden (RB) Arkansas

Thomas Jones managed his first TD of the season in early December, which shows how much they need a rushing threat. D-Mac is arguably the best player in the draft, and taking him here will also mean keeping him from the Jets’ division rivals, the Patriots.

4. Atlanta Falcons- Brian Brohm (QB) Louisville

Byron Leftwich sucks, Joey Harrington sucks, and unless D.J. Shockley or Chris Redman are the answer they need do draft a QB. Brohm has experience playing in a pro style offense, and will provide the Flacons with a serious upgrade at the position.

5. New England Patriots (f/SF) - James Laurinaitis (LB) Ohio State

The Pats have very few needs, but one that has been identified is youth in the linebacking corps. Laurinaitis here will provide a future upgrade over the likes of Bruschi and Vrabel.


6. Oakland Raiders- Sedrick Ellis (DT) USC

In 2006, the Raiders had an outstanding defense, which they need to recapture. Ellis will provide a much needed boost to one of the leagues worst rushing defenses this season.

7. Cincinnati Bengals- Calais Campbell (DE) Miami (Fl)

The Bengals have been one of the most disappointing teams this season, and one reason for this is a poor defense. Campbell is a beast who will serve as a pass rushing force for the Bengals.

8. Baltimore Ravens- Matt Ryan (QB) Boston College

It seems McNair is done as a top-flight QB in the NFl, and neither Kyle Boller or Troy Smith are franchise QBs. Matt Ryan has proved himself in the clutch this season and is the Qb of the future the Ravens need.

9. Kansas City Chiefs- Sam Baker (OT) USC

The Chiefs, like the Dolphins, have talent in the skill positions on offense, but their once tremendous O-Line is now in need of a makeover which Baker will provide.

10. Carolina Panthers- Andre Woodson (QB) Kentucky

Even when jake Delhomme was healthy, he was under-performing, and neither David Carr nor Vinny “Testavertasaurus” are the answer to igniting this talented Panthers offense.

11. Denver Broncos- Dan Connor (LB) Penn State

The Broncos just can’t seem to stop the run, and one reason for that may be the whole at linebacker beside D.J. Williams and Ian Gold.

12. Houston Texans- Jonathan Stewart (RB) Oregon

The Texans seem to have found a Franchise QB, a WR that is one of the league’s best, and a talented young defense, so the next step is someone to provide them a running game, which Jonathan Stewart will do.

13. Philadelphia Eagles- Kenny Phillips (S) Miami (Fl)

The Eagles have a huge hole on defense beside Dawkins at Safety, and Kenny Phillips is an immensely talented player who is great value here.

14. Chicago Bears- Kevin Smith (RB) UCF

What the Bears really need is an upgrade from Grossman and Griese, but the top three QBs are already gone, and they should be able to get one in the second round, so they opt to add a weapon to the running game. The record-breaking running back will replace the disappointing Cedric Benson as the teams feature back.


15. Washington Redskins- Chris Long (DE) Virginia

The Redskins are in need of a pass-rushing threat, and Long is a steal here.

16. New Orleans Saints- Malcolm Jenkins (CB) Ohio State

The Saints have possibly the NFL’s worst defense, and Jenkins, the best corner in the draft, will go someway to giving them a somewhat respectable D.

17. Arizona Cardinals- Quentin Groves (DE/OLB) Auburn

The Cardinals are currently in transition to the 3-4 scheme on defense, and one area that is in need of a makeover is the OLB position. Groves is an outstanding pass rusher, and the Cards really don’t have anyone else right now that is suited to the position.


18. Buffalo Bills- Aqib Talib (CB) Kansas

Since letting Nate Clements go, there has been a huge hole at CB for the Bills. Talib, a playmaker, can fill that hole.

19. Detroit Lions- Ryan Clady (OT) Boise State

As with the Dolphins and Chiefs, the lions have a wealth of talent on offense, except the O-Line cant run block or protect Jon Kitna. This is where Ryan Clady helps out.

20. Tennessee Titans- DeSean Jackson (WR) California

Vince Young has done outstandingly so far with his lacklustre Receiving corps, but it is time now to give him some fellow playmakers on offense. DeSean Jackson is just that, and him and Young should form a scary QB-WR duo.

21. Minnesota Vikings- Malcolm Kelly (WR) Oklahoma

The Vikings are another team that has suffered from a lack of NFL-worthy WRs. Although they seem to have found a top-flight young guy in Sidney Rice, Tavaris Jackson could still use some more help in a big target such as Malcolm Kelly.

22. Dallas Cowboys (f/CLE) - Antoine Cason (CB) Arizona

The Cowboys are a team with very few needs, but could do with some depth at Corner. Cason is excellent in coverage and should help fill some of the holes that Eli Manning was able to find against Dallas.


23. Seattle Seahawks- Jonathan Hefney (S) Tennessee

The Seahawks also don’t have any real major needs, but are quite thin at Safety. Neither Bryan Russell nor Deon Grant are top-flight guys, and Hefney is a good player with experience against top opposition.

24. New York Giants- Frank Okam (DT) Texas

The G-Men are extremely weak in the interior of their defensive line, and Frank Okam is a guy that can plug some holes in the suspect New York defense.

25. Jacksonville Jaguars- Vernon Gholston (DE) Ohio State

The Jaguars are known for having a perennially brutal defense, and if they want to keep it that way they need to restock with a potent pass rusher in Gholston.

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Adarius Bowman (WR) Oklahoma State

Joey Galloway is still one of the best WRs in the league, but outside of him the Bucs have very little. Bowman will be a very good number 2 for Tampa Bay, and eventually take over from Galloway as the number 1.

27. San Diego Chargers- Reggie Smith (CB) Oklahoma

San Diego don’t have a lot of glaring needs, but one that could be addressed is the pass defense, to which Reggie Smith will provide some quality depth.

28. Pittsburgh Steelers- Limas Sweed (WR) Texas

Another team with very few needs, one area the Steelers could opt to look at is depth at Wide receiver. Sweed, a huge target, will provide an excellent compliment to speedster Santonio Holmes.

29. San Francisco 49ers (f/IND) - D.J. Hall (WR) Alabama

The 49ers have been very disappointing on offense this season, and one reason is a lack of quality WRs. Darrell Jackson is not up to being a number 1 Wideout, and D.J. Hall is a talented guy that will be a future star in the NFL.

30. Green Bay Packers- Mike Jenkins (CB) USF

The Packers have one of the best young defenses in the league, but one place where youth is needed is corner, where Mike Jenkins will provide a successor to Woodson and Harris.

31. Dallas Cowboys- Harry Douglas (WR) Louisville

The Cowboys have some very solid wide receivers, as well as a star in T.O. However, something they lack is a real speed demon, which Harry Douglas is.

Round Two




1. Miami Dolphins- Justin King (CB) Penn State

The Dolphins have no-one in the CB corps that can stop Kellen Clemens or Trent Edwards, let alone Tom Brady.

2. St Louis Rams- Jeff Otah (OT) Pittsburgh

Mark Bulger has been on his back all season, and if the Rams want any offensive production they need to restock on offensive linemen.

3. New York Jets- Lawrence Jackson (DE) USC

The Jets have had trouble getting sacks all year, and Lawrence Jackson will form a very good DE combo with Shaun Ellis.

4. Atlanta Falcons- Gosder Cherilus (OT) Boston College

The Flacons need help on the O-Line if the want their new QB, whoever it is, to survive in the NFL.

5. San Francisco 49ers- Steve Slaton (RB) West Virginia

The 49ers have come up stagnant on offense at times this season, and adding a playmaker like Slaton will greatly improve their production, working in tandem with Frank Gore.

6. Oakland Raiders- Early Doucet (WR) LSU

Look on the Raiders’ roster and have a look for any top-flight wideouts. See any? If they want JaMarcus Russell to succeed, they need to surround him with talent. Doucet is great value here, and has also played with Russell before at LSU.

7. Cincinnati Bengals- DeMario Pressley (DT) N.C. State

The Bengals’ biggest need is the interior of the defensive line, and hopefully Pressley fills this hole.

8. Baltimore Ravens- Tracy Porter (CB) Indiana

Outside of Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle, the Ravens really don’t have anything at corner. The starting duo are also both on the wrong side of 30, and they need a playmaker like Porter to take over.

9. Kansas City Chiefs- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (CB) Tennessee St.

The Chiefs have two ageing cornerbacks in Ty Law and Patrick Surtain, and they need a successor, which comes in the form of the draft’s top small-school sleeper.

10. Carolina Panthers- Keith Rivers (OLB) USC

With Dan Morgan probably done for good now, the Panthers are very weak at LB, and if Beason plays inside they will need someone to take over outside.

11. Denver Broncos- Felix Jones (RB) Arkansas

The Broncos main problem on offense this season has been their redzone production. Felix Jones, if he comes out, can provide a playmaking threat for the Broncos.

12. Atlanta Falcons (f/HOU) - Craig Steltz (S) LSU

May be a little early for Steltz, but the Flacons need help at Safety, and Steltz has proved this season to be a playmaker that can succeed in the NFL.

13. Philadelphia Eagles- Jonathan Goff (ILB) Vanderbilt

The Eagles don’t really have anyone of note at linebacker, apart from the ageing Takeo Spikes, and Goff could fill the hole that Trotter left.

14. Chicago Bears- Chad Henne (QB) Michigan

Here comes the pick Bears fans have been waiting for. They finally get someone to take over from the horrible pairing of Gross and Greasy under centre. Henne is a very solid QB, who has all the tools to run the Bears offense.


15. Washington Redskins- Keenan Burton (WR) Kentucky

The ‘skins wide receivers have been huge under performers this season, so they need to add young talent here to replace the likes Brandon Lloyd, Antwan Randel El and James Thrash.

16. New Orleans Saints- Allen Patrick (RB) Oklahoma

It seems a strange pick for the Saints to make, but we saw when McAllister went down that Reggie Bush functions much better in tandem with a power running back, and McAllister is getting past his best.

17. Arizona Cardinals- Chris Johnson (RB) East Carolina

In the day of the Running back by committee, teams can’t survive with one solid RB. Edgerrin James can carry the load as the feature back in Arizona, but adding playmaker Chris Johnson will provide another dimension to their offense.

18. Buffalo Bills- Martin Rucker (TE) Missouri

The Bills really don’t have any receiving threats outside of Lee Evans, and a stud tight end would really help in the development of a young QB.

19. Detroit Lions- Mike Hart (RB) Michigan

The Lions run game has been so bad it’s funny at times this year, and unless they want to keep averaging negative yards per rush they need to go out and get a workhorse running back, which is what Mike Hart is.

20. Tennessee Titans- Derrick Harvey (DE) Florida

Kyle Van Den Bosch on one side is a beast, but the Titans don’t have anyone on the other side to attack the QB. Derrick Harvey’s speed would be a great compliment to Van den Bosch’s power.

21. Minnesota Vikings- Fred Davis (TE) USC

Another weapon in the passing game for the Vikes, giving young Jackson a tight end option to work with.

22. Cleveland Browns- Red Bryant (DT) Texas A&M

Cleveland need a nose tackle to anchor their 3-4 scheme for years to come, and Red Bryant has the size to be that man.

23. Seattle Seahawks- John Carlson (TE) Notre Dame

Something that’s missing in the ‘hawks offense is a reliable TE, which is where Carlson helps out.


24. New York Giants- Xavier Adibi (LB) Virginia Tech

The Giants are weak at linebacker, and Adibi compliments Mathias Kiwanuka nicely.

25. Jacksonville Jaguars- James Hardy (WR) Indiana

The Jags are another team with a lot of underachieving WRs, and James Hardy can make an impact for David Garrard.

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Colt Brennan (QB) Hawaii

Jeff Garcia seems to be at the top of his game, however he is nearing the end of his career so the Bucs need to draft his successor.

27. Miami Dolphins (f/SD) - Jason Shirley (DT) Fresno State

Yet another fault of the Dolphins this year has been their run defense (as well as their pass defense, pass offense, run offense and special teams), so they draft a big guy to plug up some of the holes in their D.

28. Pittsburgh Steelers- Roy Schuening (OG) Oregon State

It is clear that Alan Faneca is not going to return next year, so the Steelers need to draft a replacement.

29. Indianapolis Colts- J Leman (ILB) Illinois

Even though the Colts seem to have fixed the leaks in their run defense, they still don’t have a lot of talent at the middle linebacker position.

30. Green Bay Packers- Ali Highsmith (LB) LSU

A.J. Hawk and Nick Barnett are studs, but the Packers lack a playmaker at the other linebacker position, which is where Ali Highsmith fills in, providing great versatility in Green Bay’s linebacker corps.

31. Dallas Cowboys- Matt Forte (RB) Tulane

Julius Jones may well leave as a free agent, in which case the ‘boys will want a big, productive running back like Forte to work with Marion Barber.

32. New England Patriots- Shawn Crable (DE/OLB) Michigan

New England’s linebackers are probably the weakest part of their dynasty, and they lack a true 3-4 pass rusher, which is what Crable could be.

Round Three




1. Miami Dolphins- Mario Manningham (WR) Michigan

Since trading away Chris Chamber, the Dolphins don't have anyone at WR outside of Ted Ginn, and Manningham is a reliable guy that can help John Beck out immensely.

2. St Louis Rams- Eric Young (OG) Tennessee

This time the Rams get some help for the interior of the offensive line.

3. New York Jets- Heath Benedict (OL) Newberry

The Jets traded Pete Kendall to the Redskins, so they need to restock at guard.

4. Atlanta Falcons- Rashard Mendenhall (RB) Illinois

Jerious Norwood has talent, but I don’t see him as a solo full time running back, so Rashard Mendenhall can give the Flacons a good double threat in the backfield.

5. San Francisco 49ers- Tommy Blake (DE/OLB) TCU

The 49ers need a pass rusher opposite Manny Lawson, and this guy was first round talent once apon a time.

6. New England Patriots (f/OAK) - Terrell Thomas (CB) USC

The Pats might be without Asante Samuel next season, and they need depth at corner anyway.

7. Cincinnati Bengals- Vince Hall (LB) Virginia Tech

The Bengals seem to have only one or two linebackers on the roster, and they are NFL backups. Vince Hall will step in straightaway and make an impact.

8. Buffalo Bills (f/BAL) - Drew Radovic (OG) USC

The Bills have had a shaky offensive line, and although it is starting to come together, they could do with some depth there.

9. Kansas City Chiefs- Donnie Avery (WR) Houston

The Chiefs have found a stud WR in Dwayne Bowe, but outside of him and the ancient Eddie Kennison there is no-one, and they could do with a big-play threat like Donnie Avery.

10. Carolina Panthers- Barry Richardson (OT) Clemson

The Panthers could do with some young reinforcement to their offensive line, and Richadson is great value here.

11. Denver Broncos- Trevor Laws (DT) Notre Dame

The Broncos have well-known frailties defending the run, and they need more depth in the interior D-Line to help fix this problem.

12. Houston Texans- Josh Barrett (S) Arizona State

One of the Texans’ biggest needs is at safety, and Barrett is a big guy that can make plays for Houston.

13. Philadelphia Eagles- Thomas DeCoud (S) California

I know I have the Eagles taking another safety earlier in the draft, but they need youth depth at the position, especially with Brian Dawkins getting up there in years.

14. Chicago Bears- Michael Oher (OT) Ole Miss

The Bears need some help on the o-Line, and Oher is a guy that can really help them out.

15. Washington Redskins- Quintin Demps (S) UTEP

Probably the most unfortunate pick that ever had to be made, as the Redskins draft Sean Taylor’s replacement.

16. New Orleans Saints- Ben Moffitt (ILB) USF

The Saints desperately need an upgrade over Mark Simoneau and Brian Simmons at LB.

17. Arizona Cardinals- Kerry Brown (OG) Appalachian State

The Cards’ O-line has been very good this season, but I feel you can never have enough depth there, and they need to have a solid platform for all their weapons on offense.

18. Buffalo Bills- Dre Moore (DT) Maryland

The Bills have a gaping hole at DT that Moore can fill.

19. Detroit Lions- Beau Bell (LB) UNLV

The Lions have a stud in Ernie Sims at LB, but the lack a workhorse in the middle.

20. Tennessee Titans- Trae Williams (CB) USF

Even if Pacman Jones comes back into the league, the Titans still lack a #2 corner. Trae Williams can provide an upgrade over the slow, old guys they have there now.

21. Minnesota Vikings- Jack Ikegwonu (CB) Wisconsin

The Vikings are last in the league against the pass, and they need to bring in some help.

22. Cleveland Browns- Ray Rice (RB) Rutgers

Jamal Lewis has been a pleasant surprise this season, but the Browns need to draft his successor. Ray Rice will also nicely complement Jamal Lewis’ power running style.

23. Seattle Seahawks- Lavelle Hawkins (WR) California

The Seahawks really lack a top #1 wideout, and Hawkins can help them out here.

24.New York Giants- Dwight Lowery (CB) San Jose State

Outside of rookie Aaron Ross, the G-Men are very thin on playmakers in the secondary.

25. Jacksonville Jaguars- Tom Zbikowski (S) Notre Dame

They have a young stud in Reggie Nelson, but need an upgrade at the other safety position

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Kentwan Balmer (DT) North Carolina

Once apon a time, the Bucs had one of the best DT duos in football, but now they need a serious upgrade.

27. Chicago Bears (f/SD) - Phillip Wheeler (OLB) Georgia Tech

Lance Briggs may not be around much longer, and they lack a stud at the other OLB position.

28. Pittsburgh Steelers- Kendall Langford (DE) Hampton

The Steelers could do with some extra depth at defensive end, and Langford is one of the top small-school sleepers in this draft.

29. Indianapolis Colts- Shannon Tevaga (OG) UCLA

The Colts' guards may end up as free agents after this year, and they could do with some depth one the O-Line.

30. Green Bay Packers- Peyton Hillis (FB) Arkansas

The Packers have struggled in the running game at times this year, and Hillis should be and upgrade as a lead blocker, rusher and receiver.


31. Dallas Cowboys- Kenny Iwebema (DE) Iowa

The Cowboys lack depth at defensive end in their 3-4 scheme, an Iwebema can prove an upgrade there.

32. New England Patriots- Eric Wicks (S) West Virginia

Rodney Harrison is the wrong side of 30, and the pats need a playmaker to play alongside Brandon Meriwether in the future.

Round Four




1. Miami Dolphins- Tony Hills (OT) Texas

More help for the 'Phins struggling O-Line, and Hills is great value here.

2. St Louis Rams- DeJuan Tribble (CB) Boston College

The Rams need depth in the secondary behind Tye Hill, and they have struggled to stop the pass at all this year.

3. New York Jets- Bruce Davis (DE/OLB) UCLA

The Jets have struggled to get at the QB this season, and Davis could be a great fit in their 3-4 scheme.

4. Atlanta Falcons- Andre Fluellen (DT) Florida State

Depth for the Falcons D-Line.

5. San Francisco 49ers- Cliff Avril (DE) Purdue

The 49ers are weak at DE in their 3-4 behind the ageing Bryant Young.

6. Oakland Raiders- Chris Williams (OT) Vanderbilt

The Raiders need some help on the O-Line if they want to keep JaMarcus upright.

7. Cincinnati Bengals- Marcus Griffin (S) Texas

More help for a terrible Bengals defense.

8. Baltimore Ravens- Ezra Butler (OLB) Nevada

The Ravens didn't get a replacement at OLB for Adalius Thomas last year, and they need to upgrade now.

9. Kansas City Chiefs- Owen Schmitt (FB) West Virginia

In order for Brodie Croyle to be successful, the Chiefs will need to have a strong running game. Schmitt will help as a lead blocker and a redzone threat aswell.

10. Carolina Panthers- Jehuu Caulcrick (FB) Michigan State

The Panthers have DeAngelo Williams, but they need a power back to act as a redzone threat, and Caulcrick has been outstanding this season.

11. Denver Broncos- Steve Justice ( C ) Wake Forest

The Broncos need depth for their offensive line.

12. Houston Texans- DeJuan Tribble (CB) Boston College

Outside of Dunta Robinson the Texans really don't have anyone worthy of being a starter at CB.

13. Philadelphia Eagles- Carl Nicks (OT) Nebraska

The Eagles will need help on the O-Line if they want to be able to stop Umenyiora in the future.

14. Chicago Bears- Andre Caldwell (WR) Florida

The Bears have Bernard Berrian, but once Muhammad retires they are going to need someone to take over at WR.

15. Washington Redskins- Leodis McKelvin (CB) Troy

Shaun Springs and Fred Smoot are underacheivers, and McKelvin can add valuable depth to the 'Skins secondary.

16. New Orleans Saints- Tavares Gooden (OLB) Miami (Fl)

The Saints really don't have anyone at LB, be it inside or outside, so they need to draft some help.

17. Arizona Cardinals- Zack Bowman (CB) Nebraska

Antrel Rolle is solid, but the Cards need more depth at CB.

18. Buffalo Bills- Jerome Simpson (WR) Coastal Carolina

A small school sleeper who is an extremely productive playmaker that the Bills can use opposite to Lee Evans.

19. Detroit Lions- Simeon Castille (CB) Alabama

Im shocked the Lions haven't sought any help for their woefully inadequate secondary already.

20. Tennessee Titans- Paul Hubbard (WR) Wisconsin

A huge possesion receiver for Vince Young to work with, and if they take Jackson earlier on Hubbard will be a great compliment for him.

21. Minnesota Vikings- Erik Ainge (QB) Tennessee

Tavaris Jackson may be the answer, but they need insurance if he doesn't pan out, and Ainge is great value here.

22. Cleveland Browns- Charles Godfrey (CB) Iowa

The Browns are incredibly weak at corner, and Godfrey can play alongside Eric Wright in years to come.

23. Seattle Seahawks- Jacob Hester (FB) LSU

Mack Strong's career is over, and the Seahawks need a new weapon at FB to help out a running game that has struggled this season.

24. New York Giants- Dennis Keyes (S) UCLA

The Giants are woefully thin at safety, and need help to avoid Romo tearing them apart anymore.

25. Jacksonville Jaguars- Dennis Dixon (QB) Oregon

David Garrard has asserted himself as the starter in Jacksonville, but its unclear how long his ggod play will last and they need another young option at QB in the dynamic Dixon.

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Jerome Felton (FB) Furman

Cadillac Williams is having a serious injury problem, and Mike Alstott may be done for his career. Felton has been extremely productive and can take over from Alstott as the Bucs' redzone threat.

27. San Diego Chargers- Marcus Monk (WR) Arkansas

Outside of Chambers, the Chargers wideouts have been average this year. Even if Craig Davis pans out, they will need a big possesion receiver like Monk to complement him.

28. Pittsburgh Steelers- Marcus Harrison (DT) Arkansas

Depth for the Steelers at tackle behind Casey Hampton, and possibly an option alongside him if they move to a 4-3 scheme.

29. Indianapolis Colts- Brian Witherspoon (CB) Stillman

The Colts could do with some more young depth at CB, and this sleeper has incredible speed and playmaking ability..

30. Green Bay Packers- Joe Fields (S) Syracuse

The Packers could do with some depth at safety, a position they don't have much at.

31. Dallas Cowboys- Bobbie Williams (S) Bethune-Cookman

The Cowboys need some youth at safety, and this playmaker can help them out.
