Time to put DB high on the list of needs

Bc man is it not pretty. Conner gets embarrassed every time he’s out there now, we don’t fully trust Nazeeh and Cook is very vulnerable.

Idk what else to say out these guys. It’s a huge weakness.

We badly need a DB that can play in positive snaps in the slot like McDuffie and/or a DB that isn’t ****ing terrible in the middle of the field.

Panthers, 2nd Raiders and Bills game last night really exposed that. It’s a big big problem

If there was ever a position that you trust Veach to fix in a hurry, it’s this one.

I 100% agree

Again. LT is the biggest problem on the roster. I really want a DT early, but I think a DB somewhere in the first three rounds along with a RB, DT, and something else is exactly what we need

Mahomes is the reason for where chiefs are and his protection and his longevity should be the teams top priority.

When he has more time the chiefs have more success and RB and WR look better.

So I would say OL #1 priority.

Next, they should help Jones and D-Line with more pass rush and push up the middle. They have looked at a backup and future replacement to jones for last couple seasons early in the draft.

D-line #2 priority.

Another glaring priority should be the secondary.

Both CB and S need backups as good as starters. They all end up starting at some point.

Secondary #3 priority.

Find Kelce replacement. They team has been trying to find the next future replacement at TE almost every season without much success.

TE #4 priority.

if there's a nice CB with the last pick in the 1st round, definitely go for it. Or just take BPA that isn't a QB because there's a lot of things that may be needed

I’d like to see us find one or two true ball hawks in the coming years. Allen started that game with 3 or 4 tosses that were potential picks and our guys just didn’t come up with’em.

They've just been able to develop guys at CB. I don't really....I'm not worried about it.

DB, like RB, is a problem that can be fixed in the late 1st, 2nd or early 3rd, fairly easily.

I'm not worried about it.

LT is the one that will cause the most headache. And that 2nd pass rusher spot. Those are two positions that get hit so hard, so fast, that by pick 18 or so you're really sifting through leftovers.

But DB and RB....eh, we'll get that ironed out. Even a guy like Thornhill in the 2nd would be a massive boost to the coverage schemes and I have very little concern about grabbing one of those. It'll get taken care of, especially if/when we lose Reid to free agency.

We grabbed the 'best' guy on our board without really worrying about specific skill-sets in Cook and Hicks, IMO. And we didn't really worry much about their fit with Reid. I think this time around, we'll look a little more at traits and fit.

It's a pretty good DB/CB FA class in terms of some mid tier good players.

Jourdain Lewis woudln't break the bank and would be a nice fit. Asante Sameul JR has always seemed to play well.

It's pretty unbelievable to think how good this defense has been and how much the Chiefs have won this year with at times only 1 good corner.

I wonder how the Chiefs see it themselves and if they are happy to go the developmental 4th round route with CB in the upcoming draft, looking for someone to get 1 year of development before replacing Watson as CB2.

Pick up a solid CB with one of the day 2 picks. Then a trio of Mcduffie, Watson & Rookie fixes that area for me.

Safety wise, i think Hicks can step in as a starter next year but i wouldn't have him alongside Cook. I think we will pick up a safety in FA.

Pour resources into the DL, the back end will take care of itself.

Long term are we wanting to lock up Watson on a decent deal with TRINT? I'd like to see it but thats a lot of coin probably.

Several years ago, I remember Bill Belichick spoke about building a secondary being a priority in today's NFL. It sure seems like Spags tends to go more in that direction than the other as well. Not that you don't want both, but I believe the theory is that having a good group of coverage players decreases the need for exceptional pass rushers.

With how well QBs move to extend the pocket or the play now and how quickly they get the ball out, the ability to actually get home and get sacks seems to have decreased without blitzing. If you have guys that can just get pressure regularly and a good group on the back end, it sure makes it hard on an offense.

All that said, it's a fairly exceptional DL class, especially DT, and a very regular DB class. I like the CB talent well enough but there isn't a ton of great S talent from what I've seen.

I think this is a great year to spend a couple picks on the DL but who am I to argue Veach if he doesn't once again. I've argued that for years and the results come up spades anyhow.
