Nothing crazy for me this year. A friend wanted Philly and no points for $100 so I obliged him on that.

My bookies have gotten very cheap in the last few months so we are kind of in a stand off at the moment.

You stayed at the Luxor? On purpose? That place has the worst design layout in the history of pyramids and there's next to nothing worth eating there. The last time I was there it smelled like ass.

The kid was coaching in the national club volleyball championships at Mandalay Bay, and Luxor was the only one not sold out for the event. The hotel was ok, but the rooms were not. Also, I could walk to the event inside in the A/C from Luxor, which is an important detail if you've ever been to Vegas in July.

Okay, that makes sense. When I stayed there it was 100+ degrees and the weather man on the TV was bragging about how cool the upcoming day was going to be because it was going to be a mild 97 degrees.

It's still a terrible hotel.
