Hat Tip to the Bills

I let this one sit for a bit because we all love to dunk on them and who am I to shit on that?

Real talk: These dudes deserve a hat tip for being a formidable opponent. It's not like these dudes backed into this, and the Chiefs slaughtered them, or the Chiefs played a shit game and still housed them. They came in here and made us beat them. We did because this team is mother****ing great, but they were an outstanding opponent. It took a good game from us to win it and we needed it all. Bills have been a good opponent for awhile now.

Sure Dawkins ran a little smack and was a **** a few years ago, but they're nothing like the Bengals in terms of ****s. Ravens to a much lesser extent, but they still thought they could big time us. Largely this Bills team was about the business, much like the Chiefs are. I didn't see any cheap shots (hilariously the closest thing knocked out Benford) Bills have been a good opponent for awhile now.

I'd like to take the opportunity to separate the media's ****tardery, the fans ****tardery, and our own self-image, from the actual opponent.

Hat tip to the Bills.

Gun to my head, Allen will eventually get them to the Super Bowl.

I don't think he's going to beat Patrick to do so, but he will probably find a path.

Agreed

Realistically, I think this is the last ride for the “old” dynasty with Kelce and Jones, and the Bills will make it in during a reload. If we get the three-peat (not counting chickens here), I can see them making it in as soon as next year.

They showed that they deserved to be there, and like the end of the Brady era in NE, we just know how finish.

I don't think so. Not without some real significant changes in Orchard Park.

They're kind of talent deficient and I don't think McDermotts Defense is going to get the job done when it matters.

Even when they don't cross pass the the Chiefs, the Bengals wrecked their shit.

Their leaky Defense kinda shocked me, tbh. But, our execution on O, sans maybe 2 series, was spectacular last night. The other thing that baffled me was that Cook didn't touch the ball in that final series. They had 3:33 left, 2 timeouts and the 2 min warning. They had been running all over ass in the 2nd half - especially with Cook. He's a ****ing beast, and he didn't touch the gawdamn ball in their 6 play drive. That's criminal, IMO, and should get someone's ass fired.

I'll say this much: Josh Allen is a hell of a QB, but his Coaching Staff doesn't do him any favors, and oftentimes places him in a shitty position to try and bail out their dumb asses. If I'm Bill's ownership, I'm looking REALLY hard at that Staff, including McDermott. JMHO

Fair point.

Scary/sad time to be a fan there. Could they really squander another massive SB window?

I thought Josh looked more antsy last night than the previous matchups of 2021 and 2023. I believe that's only going to increase or at least replicate itself against the Chiefs. Self-fulfilling prophecy.

He knew the end of the novel. He was just going to the gallows, and he knew he was going to be the one pulling the trigger.

So far it looks like they're going to squander his window.

I don't think Beane is a horrible coach but he needs to turn the Defense over to someone that can run a modern scheme. His shit is dated.

Beyond that, they just really need to draft better and make better FA choices. Von Miller was a ****ing stupid signing and Kincaid was kind of ass this year while Elam is mega ass.

Lots of ass choices made on that DL and they really don't have a #1 or #2 WR.

If anyone's into such a thing, I've always liked the Bills fanbase's tradition of donating to the charities of players who they defeat but otherwise play their asses off. There's no question that Allen would be seen as one of this generation's greats if not for Mahomes standing in his way, so I threw $17 to his foundation as a small gesture of appreciation.

Their fans showed up, I'll give them credit for that... the lower bowl on their side had a lot of blue in the crowd, enough to hear them from the other side of the stadium at times. They had a pretty decent tailgate setup, too, saw a couple cars painted "Buffalo to KC"...

That's a long ass drive home though.

I don't know what Brady was doing in the first half with all those throws. Clear Allen was tight and missed several throws. That's the Mahomes fear factor.

First drive of the 2nd they got back to their game running and short throws. I thought coaching on both sides was an obvious big difference.

At the end of the day Mahomes made the plays in crunch time that Allen didn't. But yeah they're a tough opponent as we always see in the regular season. So much in their heads in the playoffs.

I agree. They were all pretty friendly in the parking lot, nervous I think, not wanting to show the confidence they had going in as they seemed to be very cordial. However, you could tell during the game they were a little in shock that we were playing so well. The Bills had to have absolutely everything go there way, 4 fumbles recoverd, none lossed, Josh threw to very pick-able balls that were dropped, several great 3rd and long conversions, and some 4th down. They weren't perfect, but damn close and it still shouldn't have been as close as it was yesterday. The Chiefs were just the better team.

They were REAL close to making an amazing play there on 4th and 5 and possibly winning the game.

The difference is KC usually makes that play and the other team doesn't.

I don't get why people are comparing that to the Andrews drop. Had to reverse direction and completely lay out on a fluttering ball. How often is that ball caught, maybe 50 percent? I don't know.

Reality is he had so much room, if Allen just pops it up anywhere close on the other side he had a wide open field.
