Ok, so the wife and I are considering going to the Super Bowl in NOLA. Yes, tickets are going to be approx $18,000 but, we can pull this off. To us, this is a lifetime experience. Who on Chiefsplanet are planning to go to this game?

I am taking my son-in-laws. It is a bucket list item to see the Chiefs play in the SB. I started looking at lodging and flights today. That will put a scare in you!

I wanted to go last year, but my wife backed out. I told her I was going the next time we made it no matter what. She is a HUGE Chiefs fans but would rather watch at home with family and friends.

I've been to a SB in which the Chiefs wernt playing. Got the ticket for free in 1979. Lots of chapter members go every year and report back to our groups their experiences.

If you have the extra cash, by all means go and get the experience. Just be ready to have a different game day in the stadium. Most wont be fans of either team but corporate seats. Despite that, most people dont regret spending the money and having that experience.

This is false. Prior to ever having been to the SB, I always thought the atmosphere would be sterile and corporate, and I always said I’d much rather go to an AFCCG. But having now been to the recent ones in Miami, Phoenix, and Vegas, it couldn’t be further from the truth. The environment is awesome and far, far less corporate. It more closely feels like a college football title game and the energy is awesome.

I agree, went to Miami and it was great and a great fan atmostphere. Also went to Vegas last year, but not to the game, watched it at Circa Swim Stadium. Great time. I think we will head down to NOLA for the festivities again, but probably not go to the game.

I agree! Was great to see you and other Chiefs fans in Miami and I am very glad I went. It’s something I am glad I did once and might do again but probably won’t, but going to the host city and enjoying the festivities is a savvy play.

For what it’s worth, I bought tickets on the NFL official partner site, On Location Experiences, and I am glad I did, despite the high service fee. I took my older brother and he has loads of experience buying and selling tickets for games, dating back to the hundreds of Royals and other games we attended with our dad where we would go out to games without tickets and buy them from fans outside. Even with all that experience , we decided to play it safe.

I would be inclined to wait until after the Chiefs win the AFC Championship before I bought tickets and I wouldn’t treat it as something I could buy and then resell to make money if we don’t get in, because both the service fees and the related risk of being scammed make that hard to do.

In summary, definitely go if you can afford it and have a great time, but recognize that it’s expensive and not an investment opportunity

Couldn't agree more. We went to the Miami SB and actually sat next to a family from South Dakota, so that was pretty cool. The obnoxious 49er fans behind us left well before we had the lead which was typical IMO.

Not sure I'll go to another, but am looking at going to NOLA for the weekend if we make it back.

May the football gods bless those of you who go. I'd rather take an epic vacation to Europe for that kind of money.

That’s exactly what we are doing for spring break. Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, etc.

Going to AFC champ games at home is more my thing. But I hope all who go enjoy it!

I’ve gotten tickets to all of them but Tampa (and food poisoning kept me from attending Arizona even though I had gotten tickets). So it’s crucial that I go lol.

BTW you can get great 50-yard line tickets for around $5K-6K if you don’t mind the top bowl. I love the perspective up higher so I don’t care. The trick is waiting until the Wednesday before the game and there is a bit of luck/timing because prices do start going up Thursday. But the worst time is right after the team makes it in when most fans jump on and buy their tickets.

My buddy and I went to the Miami one. To have gone and seen the Chiefs win a SB was probably the greatest day of my life. If you can go it’s worth it. I had the time of my life there. We did the Chiefs Planet meetup and BBQ party the night before. It was a blast.
