**** yes. Easy decision there and always was IMO. Center contracts are much more reasonable than G.

I wonder if they were eager to get this done to have the tag available for Bolton or Smith. It feels like that would probably be too much though.

It would make sense. Easier problem to work with on between Bolton and/or Smith as opposed to Humphrey, Bolton, and/or Smith.

Zero chance they use the tag on Bolton. There is no separate designation for OLB and MLB on the tag so they’d be putting a price tag on him for WAY more than they should by tagging him.

Unless he takes a team friendly deal, they’ll likely let him test the market and let him see his value. He's not worth close to what the highest paid OLB’s are getting. Nor would the Chiefs consider paying him as such.

Ahh I forgot that there was no distinction there at LB. Yea, not happening.

Don't think they'll tag Trey either honestly.

That’s why this AAV for creed is strange to me.

Tag figure for Creed was like $13 million. And they weren’t going to use it on Bolton or Smith.

So you gave him 3 years and $59 million on TOP of the tag year?

Sorry but this just feels like too much by a solid 15%.

I didn't disagree they wouldn't sign him. I just didn't want them to. This is a severe overpay in an offense that does not need an elite center. Sure you want one but you dont wanna pay for one. They did what Mahomes wanted, which counts for something.
