They usually ask when I go in for other appointments, so assuming that happens, I'll do it. I don't usually go out of my way to set an appointment just for that. Last year they did covid at the same time, so probably that one, too.

I thought about asking about who was planning to get the covid booster as well, but that may have tilted a bit too political. Which is a shame.

In all seriousness, that is true. People have always told me I’d know if I had the flu as opposed to the cold so I don’t think I ever have.

Eh, I'm not sure that's true. The times I've had it, it's basically felt like a cold but with a fever and more severe body aches.

Seems to be the most common sentiment.. at the same time, when you catch the flu and have mild symptoms, you don’t go to the doctor for it so you probably never know you even had it.

I’ve only had the flu a couple of times, and most recently 9 years ago. Any time I’ve had it I end up throwing up at least half a dozen times and am pretty much incapacitated for a day or two. Luckily those experiences are few and far between.

I've had varying degrees of sickness from the flu over my life. I feel like I've got a pretty good immune system. I've had two cases of the flu put me on my ass, which led to pneumonia each time. That's something you don't want to mess around with. Both cases were after I turned 40.

Aside from those two instances, I haven't really stayed in bed due to a flu. I even had Covid twice and it wasn't that big of a deal aside from losing taste/smell for a few days. I was tired, but not to the point where I couldn't push through and keep working (from home, so as not to infect co-workers). My job, however, is not demanding physically, as my biggest workplace injury fear is carpal tunnel.

I'm pretty sure I'm giving myself carpal tunnel by years of playing StarCraft.
