Yep. The Jones holdout and Kelce injury arent helping matters. I lowered my prediction by 2 games to 11 - 6.

I went 12-5 and I could see 11-6. The schedule is tough. Then again if everything goes right with health and Chris Jones and possibly making a move for a WR, I could see us going 14-3 or something too.

This may be the first year where Mahomes plays a road playoff game. 11-6 or 12-5 sounds about right given how tough the schedule is. Chiefs could be in an 0-2 hole after next week. I’d feel so much more confident than 11-6 or 12-5 if we win the next 3.

I can’t imagine actually feeling worse about this team after that game. You have to feel better about the defense in a Jones-less first 7 games and that’s much more important than what the offense looked like in a freak game without Kelce.

I'd raise you mid-season 2021... we were out of "It's just bad luck", etc by then. This is one game, no matter how disorganized or unlike a Reid coached team. Six weeks of that level of football was pretty damn disheartening.

Mahomes in mid-season 2021 was a bottom half of the league QB. It was absolutely shocking watching how uncomfortable he was after he had carried the team for such a long time. And then he snapped out of the funk.

I think we saw flashes of that discomfort last year in the early season Chargers and Colts games and then they came out of nowhere and smoked the Bucs defense. And all was well for the rest of the season.

And this game? Same sort of discomfort but a bunch of young receivers, no Kelce, two new OTs… Kinda seems understandable. And we wouldn’t even be bitching if a couple guys had caught easy passes.
