Reminder for the doom and gloom crowd

The 2015 Chiefs with Alex Smith started 1-5. We went on to win 11 games that year.

The 2021 Chiefs had bad WR problems like we are seeing now. Started 3-4. We ended up 12-5 and hosted the Championship game.

Long season fellas. This staff will figure it out and we'll be fine.

Toney catches one of those and we’ve won and everything is swell.

People need to chill.

if that incomplete that led to the pick 6 bounced another way we'd have won. it took a lot of bad things happening at once to happen.

hell I wasn't worried about a loss until the incomplete on 4th&25 on the last drive

Hell, he didn't even need to catch one, if he just knocked them all down we win. They scored 14 without that pick 6.

This is the worst argument in all of sports.

Bills fans do it all the time and it drives me nuts.

It’s akin to “if Jalen Hurts didn’t fumble, Chiefs lose the Super Bowl”. It’s lame.

And it ignores other parts of the game. For example, Lions fans could say “if we didn’t cough the ball up in the red zone, we wouldn’t have needed that pick-6”.

It also ignores that the defense had the chance to stop the Lions offense and force a FG. But the Lions offense ran through the Chiefs defense like a hot knife through butter, with the game on the line, even though Spags knew they were going to run. That’s honestly the part i’d be most worried about (if anything).

Chiefs are going to be just fcking fine. Wouldn’t even surprise me if they go 15-1 the rest of the way. But the excuses are just lame when any teams fan does it.

The problem is TC might as well be speaking a different language. You're probably closer to understanding what a chimp is saying than TC, which doesn't make his point lame.

He's talking about statistics, which you've dumbed down to outcomes.

^This is exactly how Patriots fans got the rep for being arrogant assholes.

Casual fans who have never watched football show up when their team wins a game in September or October (or, uh, just never leave), and just get laughed at because 1) we've had this conversation 20 times over, and for the past several years it's always ended the same, the Chiefs hosting the AFCCG (despite all the great rosters out there!!)... and 2) we'd need a flow chart to even begin reviewing such a reeruned simpleton approach to football.

we're not saying it to cope with losing the superbowl

we're saying it because people here are freaking out and going full on blackpilled doomer when in reality the chiefs are fine and would have won if not for a lot of things going wrong at once which is something that is unlikely to happen again

Yeah. There’s also a big difference between the forced fumble and the drops.

McDuffie made a hell of a play to cause that fumble. Sure the Lions player could’ve held onto the ball, but still a defensive player did something to help cause it.

There is nothing that any Lion did to make Toney drop any of those passes. Hell, the last one might have been a TD. He was wide open.

Not exactly true. Between Branch and Gardner-Johnson, those two got into the Chiefs receivers heads. Wouldn't have worked on Kelce, but the WRs were playing scared. One instance resulted in a pick 6.

True. Joe Bleymaier, Matt Nagy & co should be under some serious self-scrutiny for starting KT. Whatever criteria they used before and during the game to keep KT on the field should be reevaluated. This learning opportunity should not be lost. And FFS, KT should be catching at least 100 passes AFTER EVERY practice. He should be on notice from the coaching staff that he HAS to get better.
