how about this 2013 staff?
Just dreaming.
Eric Decosta-GM Bill Kuharich-vice president of player personnel Jay Gruden-HC Whoever Jay wants as his OC, he'd call plays either Keith Butler (Steelers LB coach) or Jim Tomsula (49'ers d-line coach) for DC. Decosta is probably the most qualified guy that's NOT a GM yet. Kuharich was pretty much responsible for signing or drafting: Priest Holmes, Willie Roaf-and pretty much all of our best players still on the team. Gruden has been a successful head coach (albeit in lesser leagues) so the job is not foreign to him, is a former longtime QB and has done wonders with Dalton in Cinci. He's young and will likely coach for a long time. Perfect guy to draft and develop a young QB. While he's a WC guy, Cinci throws downfield a lot more than the old school versions. Plus, big physical receivers like Bowe and Baldwin tend to do well in that offense. Both Butler and Tomsula are successful aggressive 3-4 coaches, which fit our personnel. Both have several years of proven player development for solid organizations. Draft Geno or Barkley and you're off to the races. Just throwing some names around. |

Just laugh, Rausch.
I can say this about Butler...I was at a charity event with him a few years back and got to talk to him for about 15-20 minutes and he basically said he loved Pittsburgh and didnt want to leave and that with the players he has, why would he. Well, he might look at things differently with the stars on that defense dimming and who knows, maybe he would be open to talks about going somewhere to be a DC. He had a lot of good things to say about KC back then. |

The more I learn about Jay Gruden the more impressed I am with his resume. Seems like a legit HC possibility.
If Butler won't go, how about Tomsula? 49'ers D has been steadily good since he's been there, and his line in particular. |

That said I don't think he's DC material. And that's harsh. I get that. There's probably 40 LB's that'd stand up for him and say how much they respect him and how much they've learned (key to a real position coach) from him. He is the best LB coach in the biz. I honestly believe that. I know he takes the time and invests in his players. He knows them as individuals. That said he's only an excellent position coach. The end...

And we can.

You're not going to pull DeCosta away from Baltimore. Ozzie is about to retire and teams have been trying to pull him in without success for years, as the Ravens just toss him more piles of money every time another franchise courts him.

GM: Marc Ross
HC: Dana Holgorsen DC: Dick Bumpas or Kirby Smart Ross is a young stud who has two Super Bowl rings while being the Director of Scouting for the Giants. Holgorsen is one of the most innovative offensive minds in football at any level. Period. Bumpas is Holgorsen's twin on the defensive side of the ball. TCU has been ranked #1 in defense nationally three times since his hire in 2004 and he's put every team he's coached on the map defensively. (He was D-coord at Navy in 1997 and had them ranked 6th nationally.) |

Reid, next to Tony Dungy is the most overrated piece of crap over the last 15 years at HC. And how about that scapegoating job he did on Juan Castillo? Quote:
I like this scenario. Let's go new, fresh, and take a chance.
