Are you jacked up about the MLB All Star Game?

3 weeks away! Anyone going?? Are you excited about it?

KC's first All Star Game in nearly 40 years!

Butler could start at DH but we'll see.

I'm looking forward to it but I wouldn't say "jacked up" and no I'm not going.

I am excited and looking forward to it but I am definitely not "jacked up." It will be cool because it's in KC but beyond that it's just the another all-star game which isn't always the best game to watch.

The MLB is the ONLY all-star game worth watching. I love the fact that the out come has an impact on the playoffs.

This is true but they still basically have to make sure everyone gets a chance to play instead of sticking with whoever is hot and/or dominating. Personally I think the impact it has on the World Series is stupid. If I am a contending NL team or fan I really do not want to see someone from the Cubs, Astros, or Padres deciding whether my team gets home field advantage

I pretty much agree with this. While the outcome "mattering to someone" now does add some intrigue to the game I think it's a dumb way to decide homefield advantage for the WS when most of the players in the ASG won't even be in the WS. Billy Buter gets a game winning hit for the A.L. which in turn gives the Yankees home field? Puke. I'd rather the N.L. team get homefield than for one of ours to help the Yankees in any way. Or a Cubs player doing the same for the N.L. giving the Cardinals home field? I'm sure Cubs fans love that idea.

How about the team with the best record who's in the WS gets homefield advantage? Teams are tied?... go to tie breakers. It's just to logical to work I guess.

Didn't it used to alternate between the AL & NL (I could be making that up)? I think the current way is completely ridiculous, but I guess getting HFA because it's your league's year wouldn't have been much better. Then again, it's a pretty ridiculous league, considering the fact that all teams don't even play by the same rules.

I would rather see this than the Pro Bowl where the players make a half hearted at best attempt to play or win the game. Here at least there is incentive for most of the players to make an effort.

Heck yeah, I'm excited! I'll be even more pumped up if:

1. Either Moose or Butler participates in the Home Run Derby
2. The Royals are less than 5 games out of first and playing well leading into the game.

3 weeks out and I'm not hearing much buzz around the city about it. Outside of fan fest, I haven't heard much of anything that's going on during that weekend.

I think there's gonna be a parade on the Plaza. I hope nobody shows up. That would be funny.

If any of you get a chance to go to the Home Run Derby - do it. It is wildly entertaining in person. While it was nice to be able to go to the game, it just seemed like another game to me.

HRD is a blast, no pun intended. Go if you can.
