THIGPEN AS THE STARTER

To compare Thigpen to others as if he had been the starter in the spread offense from the first game (extrapolating out his current stats) he'd have 3,375 yard on 288 completions from 490 attempts (for a completion percentage of 58.8%). He'd also have 25 TDs against 13 INTs and a passer rating of 85.71.

That would rank him as the number 9 or 10 passer in terms of passing yardage, number 6 for TDs thrown, and number 17 for passer rating.

Don't understand why others don't think he's played well enough to be the starter. He's a rookie -- give him some time (and some better coaches) to improve his game.

Is this in response to Thigpen, or our previous quests down the 'pile of shit QB' trail?

Becuase we need help in other areas even worse. We scored 31 points, yet we gave up 38 points. Any offense shouldnt need 40 points to have a chance to win.

Thigpen needs some things to work on no doubt, but he shows flashes. Our defensive line hasnt shown flashes of shit. They SUCK. They are the worst defensive line in the "HISTORY" of the NFL. Look at the word history. Out of all the bad teams over the years, they are dead last.

Thigpen is not the problem of this team, but he isn't the answer either.

Pass Rushers
Linebackers
Offensive Linemen

Then QB.......

If you don't believe that you have the answer at QB, I don't care what other problems you have on your team, QB is the number one priority.

The Chiefs can't go into another season without the QB situation settled.

Thigpen has earned the opportunity to not get his ass kicked to the curb in the pending franchise blow-up this offseason... but nothing more.

If the Chiefs make the move for Scott Pioli and Josh McDaniels, Matt Cassel would be the perfect fit for the Chiefs starting QB in 2009.

Another poster made a good analogy.

Matt Cassell is just a Scott Mitchell waiting to happen.

Just say no to Cassell.

Do ?

Don't ?

Which is it ?

Sure Thigpen is not our answer ,Now. Can he be, we don't know this. Drafting a QB to be our QBOTF has been our # 1 priority for sometime. We don't have one and we still have many holes to fill. But Tyler is serviceable if we can slow down some teams.

Am I sold on Tyler as our QBOTF ? No. As bad as he played and looked today, it was by far better than Atlanta.

BTW, did you see our pass rush ?

Who says the Chiefs have to use the draft to get their starting QB?

The Chiefs can sign Matt Cassel this offseason... securing their starting QB and have the entire draft to address other needs.

I saw the pass rush this season.

It doesn't matter.

The single most important position in football is QB.

because they fans are going to hold on to mediocrity even after Carl is gone, 20 years of brain washing will take years to correct....

Thigpen needs to earn it next year with a real NFL staff and a proset offense. He needs to learn how to read and make choices from under center.

We will NEVER win anything if we cant get under center in the redzone. Sorry it just wont happen.

Besides, no need to argue it, we dont know whom the GM or HC is so its a moot point until then...

I don't understand this. We're number 13 in red zone offense - scoring touchdowns .550% of the time (the same percentage as before we went to the spread).
