Do we have a thread for the secondary as a whole?

Seriously. The defense gets love. There's threads for individual players.

But man, this SECONDARY. Those corners. They are the strength of this entire team right now.

Let's be real, we don't get a ton of pressure without blitzing. They don't have an easy job like some secondaries that get praised. McD, Sneed and co are just locking everyone the heck down. NO ONE does what we did to Jefferson last week. I'm absolutely loving watching this secondary playing week in and week out.

Yep, definitely the strength of the defense right now, imo. Their blitzing makes up for a current lack of pass rush on the DL, they play the run damn well, tackle well, coverage in general seems to be getting better, and now theyre taking the ball away. Still loads of room for improvement, but that's what makes it exciting. If Karlaftis and FAU develop a little and Omenihu rushes like he did in SF this defense could be scary...providing we keep Jones.

I think we need to rotate our d like more. Jones is playing too many snaps and you see him gasping for air.

I don’t know why we don’t play the dt we drafted or the end we drafted from k state more.

This d line needs to rotate bodies

I agree, not sure what's going on with Coburn, or Farrell for that matter. I saw nothing egregious in that first game. We know what we're getting from Nnadi - nothing. Dickerson has been bad wherever he's played and Wharton cannot play the run - frankly he's looking like a UDFA again. Best game from Nnadi was the Chicago game where he had abotu 15 snaps. That's what he should be limited to if he's used.

OR it's because he didn't have a preseason.

It's not like men that large are known for their stamina to begin with.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

When you stop and think about it this is the best secondary we've had since Cocaine Carter and Hasty.

Perhaps neither Sneed or McDuffie is the raw athlete of a Carter or have the number of INT's but they just shut people down. It's not as flashy but the result is just shutting down passing games.
