Underdog Fantasy Football: Josh & Hayden on the '25 RB Class

I rely on these guys' analysis of rookie RBs as one aspect of the total research I do before my fantasy drafts and during the season when lining up waiver wire targets. I enjoy their takes and debates about the prospects and the comparative data they present.

So, since this is such a robust RB class, I figured I'd consolidate their videos here, as some of you might also find their analysis useful, especially as it relates to your favorite RB prospect(s). I will update this post as they release new videos. Enjoy!

I'm really struggling this year in assembling my "What I Want Mock" on a few fronts, and RB is among them. I'm really not interested in seeing KC spending premium draft capital on most of these RBs. They are, from a quantity perspective, more of the same types you can get in every draft, and not many will move the needle substantially without substantial investment. The feature set I'd like to see them get their hands on will also likely require an investment that I'm just not sure I want to see this team spend the capital on, given other perceived needs and wants.

What I want is TreVeyon Henderson, just like I really wanted Gibbs. Taking that guy in the 1st round over an LT or DL is difficult for me to consider. If LT was truly settled, I might would say **** it, go balls deep.

I'd settle for an Achane type, and maybe Tuten is that guy, but I'm scared of his fumbles and the fact that Reid would shut that down fast because Reid does not do RBs that put the ball on the ground. I like Harvey, but he will be 24 when the draft hits. Sure, you have the caveat that he's only here for 1 contract, but then how much value do you assign to that type of player? I'm not on board with paying a 3rd round projected price tag. Sampson's lingering hamstring issues scare me a bit. Blue's fumblitis is a non-starter for me. Then I look at a couple of guys in Trevor Etienne and Brashard Smith. Smith, I'm just a bit skittish on with lack of experience as an RB and his size to not only hold up but pickup the blitz. Etienne, it's more about his lack of size and ability to hold up in blitz pickup as well.

I just don't see a guy I'm ready to say yeah, you have to get him. Ideally, I'd like to see one of these guys fall to the 4th or 5th round (if we get one in a trade scenario) and take the warts at that point. In the third round, I feel like it's paying too much of a premium on many of them. Inevitably, the numbers say a few that are graded 2nd- 3rd round will fall. Who is the question? Which type of back is next?

I’ll always be on board with adding more OL, protecting the best QB is a no-brainer to me. It’s not sexy, but it’s smart. Give me a guy like Skattebo in the later rounds. I’ll be good with that.
