40 days?!? That's freaking incredible.

I have a hard enough time when I fast for one day. Especially right around 2pm. Once I get past 2-3pm the rest of the day isn't so bad.

My wife and I tried to do that juice fasting where you get a juicer and do fruits/vegetables...after 5 days my stomach felt like it was eating itself.

I pretty much intermittent fast every day but 40 days would be rough. Heck 1 day is tough.

No matter how effective the crash diet part may be, I'd stop short of saying it works great if you're needing to do it over and over again.

They would almost have to lose weight considering that it takes about 10k calories a day to stay a big and strong as they are.

Hell I’d bet someone like JJ Watt has lost a decent amount of weight simply from not doing that and going down to 2-3k calories a day as a retired player.
