Fun with Data: Wide Receivers

Thought I'd show a breakdown of all wide receivers that have gained at least 700 yards receiving in either 2014 or 2015 (or both) and their related 40-yard dash and 3-cone drill times. Times are fastest measurement, whether combine or pro day.

As a preface, it basically shows that the 4.55 forty and 7.15 3-cone remain the baselines to set.

Look at the 4.3 receivers.

Erase everyone else.

Dorsey has drafted four receivers if you want to include Albert Wilson (whom Dorsey graded as a 5th rounder) and only the 7th rounder from last year, Brown, wasn't a 4.3 burner.

That's an extremely small sample size. Basically just Conley because Wilson ran a 4.43.

I think 4.45 is the benchmark for Dorsey.

If you look at the time Dorsey was with Green Bay, they drafted alot of guys that ran 4.5x 40's. I think you guys are making broad assumptions based on a really small sample size.
