Most Valuable Receiver in 2023?

Good morning Chiefsplanet,

With so many new faces to the WR room, I'm having a hard time predicting which receiver is going to have the greatest impact on the offense for this upcoming season. Going into training camp I think most would have agreed that it was going to be Toney's time to shine especially after his Super Bowl heroics.

Now with the season a week away, the tone has shifted due to Toney again not being able to stay on the field. Who do you think will become Pat's favorite non Kelce target in 2023?

Probably Moore, but I'm hoping it's Ross

I went with MVS. He's the only WR on the roster who has actually balled out in the postseason for KC.

Yeah most reliable is Marquez.

Then the optimistic in me says tooney for who is/should be most valuable, but this year will either confirm or change my idea on that forever.

Hard to go against MVS after that title game performance when our receivers were dropping like flies.

What was it like 6/116 and that laser td he caught sitting on his ass?

Patrick and MVS were eyelashes away from connecting on several big plays last season. I believe as hard as Mahomes works to better every aspect of his game, his timing with MVS will be better and we will see those connect more often this year.

Somebody is going to take off. Week 3 or 4 one of these guys(wtf knows which one) is gonna have a Over-The-Top performance of 150 yrd+ and 2td+ and Pat's gonna fix him up as WR1 going forward. If I had to guess, I pick Ross. And that's wild, because I have not been on the Ross train that so many here have been on, but all of a sudden, in this moment, I have a gut feeling.

I think Moore is the safe pick. I think he's going to be fed a lot of underneath routes and used similarly to how they used JuJu last year. I expect him to be a reliable target with a high catch rate.

I don't think he has any elements of his game that will dazzle you the way Toney/Rice/James/Ross can, but i do think he'll reliably be in the right place and make the catch when it's thrown to him.

MVS/Toney/Rice/James are gonna be very boom or bust on any given play/Sunday etc.

I have some unwavering faith that Toney explodes thisyear.

Yeah, but Aaron Rodgers never got his timing down with MVS either.

Here's hoping, but I'm not convinced.

Fair point, but remember that Rodgers isn't, and has never been as good as Mahomes.

I'm still going with 10 or 12 good to great regular season games from Toney and 5 to 7 inactives.
