Alex Smith Receives Honorary Doctorate Gives Commencement Speech
Alex Smith who earned his Bachelor's Degree in 2 years at University of Utah and was working towards his Master's Degree by the time he drafted, has now received an Honorary Doctorate by Utah. Smith gave the Commencement Speech for the graduating class with an inspirational tone. Siting words of wisdom from UFC Legend George St Pierre (at about 6:45 into this video) and others along the way, saying things like "I encourage you to embrace the challenge of your own imperfection" and "strive to be the most respected instead of the most popular". Smith came across like a scholar, and at times, certainly appeared like the guy you might want as the franchise QB and leader for your team. Now lets see if we trade his ass away and draft a replacement QB or not.

at 14:00 in he talks about being booed by 80,000 home fans, , having 7 different offensive coordinators in 7 years and being benched because of a concusion in the middle of making a Superbowl run during the best season of his career. I donno...letting this guy walk could prove to be a costly mistake :-/ i def respect this guy, he is underrated.
