Attending my first Chiefs game

It's been a long time coming, but I'm finally planning to make the big trip to visit Kansas City from Australia to see my Chiefs play. With this thread I'm mainly keen to suss out the seating situation at Arrowhead, but any general advice or useful information to know when visiting Kansas City would be great to hear.

I've been in touch with a ticket rep, so generally know how the ticket buying process works and I'm ready to grab a couple of home game tickets shortly after the schedule is released this week. I plan on going to the home opener, so I have my fingers crossed that there will be at least two home games in the first three weeks of the season. A couple of basic questions I have:
  • Where are the best seats at Arrowhead? Either midfield or an endzone might be the obvious choices, but if anyone can provide specific advice on this that would be great. i.e. best value seats for the price, best view of the field/team, etc. I'm aware the ticket prices are high at the moment but it is what it is.
  • Is there anything to do at Arrowhead during the week when games aren't being played and during away games? I.e. tours of the stadium, Chiefs related events, etc.
And about the City:
  • What are the must do's and must see's in Kansas City? Chiefs related or otherwise.

Aside from Chiefs home games, I'm hoping to catch at least one Mizzou and/or K-State game, as well as a Royals game and Sporting Kansas City match (depresso I know, but when in Rome right). A trip to the Pro Football HOF would also be on the list if at all possible. I'll probably bump this thread a few times over the coming months with more questions, but decided to get the ball rolling by hearing what the upstanding Kansas Citians of the Planet have to say first!

Cheers

Help with seat choice!

I am new to this forum and looking for a little help. I am taking my family to arrowhead for the first time and wanted to see if the tickets I picked were good especially for my kids. We are sitting in section 117 row 4. My kids are 11 and 12 years old and I just want to make sure they will be able to see. I know many stand in the lower section and I am not sure if they will have issues seeing over others heads. Can anyone please weigh in on my seat choice. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Be prepared to stand up a lot. It won't just be you, as most everyone does. Also, everyone wants lowers. You may have some trouble seeing what's happening at the other end of the field, but you'll get to see players up close.

Geez, you must be loaded. Only seats they have left are 14 rows back from you and they are going for $800 a piece.

FTR, I have season tickets but they are in section 303. I don't mind as the view is still pretty decent, even up there. Well, except for when the seats around me are sold to opposing fans. Some of them I want to strangle.

It'll be better in row 4 than it would be in row 10 or whatever. People tend to stand when people in front of them are standing, so when you're in those lower rows, it happens a little less frequently. But yeah, it'll be a thing at times.

But that said, the kids will be able to easily go down by the rail before the game to get an up close view of the players on the sideline, so that alone will probably make those seats worth it.

Even in my section around my seats tickets, resells are going for $450+ right now on Ticketmaster. Hell, even the Chiefs seats are list at $490.

Thank you for everyone's response, it is so helpful. LZen, I wish I was loaded, been saving for a year and got a little lucky on the seats. Bought them right when tickets went on sale and got them much cheaper than they are now. Ticket prices look much pricier than last year! I guess a few Super Bowl wins will do that! I have been to a lot of games here in California but excited for first Arrowhead Game.

he going to be in cabana/pool area with me in Jacksonville to watch the Chiefs game. It’s not close to the field but if it’s 120 degrees in the stadium, it’s going to be great to jump in the pool and cool off.

Old mate was replying to my post about home game tickets. But yea Jacksonville will be epic.

I'll make an update post soon about my travel plans in case anyone wants to catch up or has any other recommendations for a tourist in KC.
