Yeah, but it could still be a win from a societal standpoint if you weigh the costs (a few dead people) against the benefits (lots of people getting outdoor exercise and lots of people learning geography).

A needle in a hay stack would be easier to find then a 10 X 10 inch box somewhere in the Rocky mountains. I threw in the towel when this was first announced.

You just have to take his word that he put the treasure together...and then after ten years of selling books leading to the treasure- someone found it.
